About the Book This collection of poems speaks volumes about the new Gambia under democracy, The Gambia by then under dictatorship, and expressed the poet's love towards his heartbeat. It further addresses global politics, a modern world religion, and the new world order. The title of the book takes its name from the current happenings in Africa- war, corruption, coup d'état, hatred, poverty, bribery, inferiority of the black race, to name a few. Haunting, gripping, and lyrical- a book you won't want to put down for its distinct diction and inexplicable eloquence: an excellent debut that sensitively prophesizes the coming of the Anti-Christ and the present chaos in the world, in connection to Islam and terrorism. It also centers on African leaders and poor governance and corruption. It's descriptive, lyrical and poignant and creates an intimate and visceral read that is both solid mystery and a fast-faced in psychological poetry in a world of deception. The author defined politics as 'intellectual deception'; stating that they will change us with having culpably allowed the destruction of some of those records of Creation we had in our power to conserve. And, while professing to regard every living thing as the direct handiwork and best evidence of a Creator, yet, with a strange inconsistency, seeing many of us perish irrevocably from the face of the earth by living as slaves in our minds. It's the great age of deception that teaches man to be imprisoned in his own mind. If the world is blind, not everyone is deaf. You are either with God, or you are with Satan. Thematically, the author sets a precedent for a great deal that followed the 'mind control' as an element of misleading mankind to losing his soul and gain the world.

For thirteen-year-old Kim, travel to South Africa with her journalist mother will mark the end of her childhood and the beginning of a remarkable journey. Expecting nothing more than three months in her mother’s homeland, Kim comes to terms with the country’s diverse and often shocking history. The Truth and Reconciliation Hearings in post-apartheid South Africa open her eyes to the tragedy and brutality of its segregationist policies. Kim’s first meeting with her relatives, her contact with schoolmates and cousins, bring her face-to-face with the realization that she is not as removed from this powerful story as she thought. As her mother struggles with her past, Kim becomes more and more determined to unlock the secret that has always kept her from knowing her father. Helped by the young son of a long-time family servant, whose own father was a casualty of Apartheid history, Kim eventually unlocks her mystery and brings her mother and herself to their own truth and reconciliation. Layered and complex, this is a novel that raises questions and challenges beliefs.

Leading Afrika written by Mandivamba Rukuni and has been published by Penguin Random House South Africa this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-09-26 with Self-Help categories.

Afrika is currently on a path of development that is not sustainable, because we confuse modernisation with Westernisation. This Afrikan-Western paradox prevents us from building a modern, dynamic Afrikan society - and it will take highly visionary and transformational leadership on our part as Afrikans to reinvent ourselves and build a truly modern Afrikan society. What would the world be like if its institutions were based on the values and practices of a traditional African village? In Leading Afrika, Mandivamba Rukuni re-evaluates the concepts underlying traditional African leadership principles and systems, and illustrates how these can form a modern basis for the African Renaissance. By arguing for the inclusive and traditional values expressed in the philosophy and practices of Unhu-Ubuntu-Botho, the author reminds the reader of historic successes in Africa, and illustrates how leaders globally at all levels can draw on traditional African values the better to lead their nations' people, whether at home, in the community, in business or in government.
