Pola asuh permisif merupakan pola perilaku orang tua dalam berinteraksi dengan anak dimana orang tua membebaskan anak untuk melakukan apa yang ingin di lakukan tanpa memberikan arahan baikburuknya tindakan yang dilakukan. Pola asuh otoriter merupakan gaya pengasuhan yang menuntut dan membatasi seorang anak, serta memiliki batasan yang tegas (Adawiah, 2017). Pola asuh otoriter dapat mengakibatkan anak mengalami keterlambatan perkembangan fisik dan mental serta mendapat perlakuan kasar dari orang tua (Chhangur, 2015). Sedangkan pola asuh demokrasi adalah jenis pola asuh dimana anak diberi kesempatan untuk menyampaikan pendapat, gagasan maupun keinginannya sehingga anak dapat berpartisipasi dalam penentuan keputusan-keputusan di keluarga dengan batas-batas tertentu yang telah disepakati oleh orang tua dan anak (Desy, 2013). Bullying adalah tindakan penggunaan kekuasaan untuk menyakiti seseorang atau sekelompok orang baik secara verbal, fisik, maupun psikologis sehingga korban merasa tertekan, trauma, dan tidak berdaya Pelaku bullying sering disebut dengan istilah bully. Seorang bully tidak mengenal gender maupun usia. Bahkan, bullying sudah sering terjadi di sekolah dan dilakukan oleh para remaja (Zakiyah, Humaedi, & Santoso, 2017). Bullying tergolong kepada perilaku yang tidak baik atau perilaku menyimpang, hal ini dikarenakan bahwa perilaku tersebut memiliki dampak yang cukup serius. Bullying dalam jangka pendek dapat menimbulkan perasaan tidak aman, terisolasi, perasaan harga diri yang rendah, depresi, atau menderita stress yang dapat berakhir dengan bunuh diri. Dalam jangka panjang, korban bullying dapat menderita masalah emosional dan perilaku (Y. P. Sari & Azwar, 2017). Penelitian kualitatif Ardianti menemukan bahwa perasaan berkuasa menjadi salah satu alasan mengapa siswa melakukan bullying. Pelaku bullying merasa bangga dianggap hebat dan ditakuti oleh siswa lain yang melihatnya menindas.
