This is a cookbook purportedly found in the kitchen of the Lexington Hotel after Capone was sent to jail. Whether or not that is true, the Italian recipes are great and the photos of Al, his cronies' makes for an interesting book.

Cooking With Capone written by Olindo Romeo Chiocca and has been published by CreateSpace this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-11 with Cooking categories.

Cooking with Capone is a twisted gastronomic look at the links between the American Underworld (1890-1959) and traditional Italian cooking. Olindo has taken family recipes and, incredibly, tied each and every one of them to an event in the history of Organized Crime in New York and Chicago. The style is sharp, the commentary acerbic, and the edge acidic. You don't even have to enjoy cooking to love this book; the historical accounts of these mobsters and thugs are enough in itself. The book is hilarious; in fact, an entire section (Dead at the Table) is devoted to Maifa Dons who were assassinated while eating dinner; so he includes the account of the killing, the players, the menu, and then the recipes. Some of these recipes include 'Al Capone's Minestrone', 'The Moll's Broad Beans', 'Zuta's Ziti' and 'The Dancing Don's Lemon Risotto'. There's even more, the book is packed with Mob trivia from some of the most famous players of all, including Dutch Schultz, Joey Gallo, Joe Adonis and Tony Salerno, to the more colorful and obscure characters such as Cornbread Bruchell, Midnight Rose, Jimmy E. Coli and Cheesebox Callahan. Chiocca has also included a 'Goomba Appetite Scale (GAS)', 'Jimmy E. Coli's Foodsafe Cooking Tips', 'Mobster Profiles', 'Uninvited Dinner Guest Scenarios', and a 'Rogue's Gallery' which is jammed with over forty-nine short biographies of the most noble of crooks. There are 16 sections in all including 'Sleeping With the Fishes', 'Hell's Kitchen', 'Fat Tony's Pizza Connection' and 'Hitting the Mattresses' (for a midnight snack). Over 165 recipes, 200 mob vignettes and an endless number of quotes all compressed onto 330+ bullet proof pages. This book is a lot of fun!

Capone written by John Kobler and has been published by Da Capo Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-10-09 with History categories.

The public called him Scarface; the FBI called him Public Enemy Number One; his associates called him Snorky. But Capone is the name most remember. And John Kobler's Capone is the definitive biography of this most brutal and flamboyant of the underground kings—an intimate and dramatic book that presents a complete view of Al Capone and his gaudy era. Here is Capone's story: his violent childhood in Brooklyn, his lieutenancy to Johnny Torrio, his rise in the ranks of the underworld, the notorious St. Valentine Massacre, his eventual control of the entire city of Chicago, and his decline during his imprisonment in Alcatraz. Capone was the ultimate gangster, and Capone is the ultimate in gangster biographies—a classic in the literature of crime.

The Mafia Cookbook written by Joseph Iannuzzi and has been published by Simon and Schuster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002-02-16 with Cooking categories.

In The Mafia Cookbook, Joe Dogs took the quintessential Mob formula—murder, betrayal, food—and turned it into a bestseller, not surprisingly, since Joe Dogs's mixture of authentic Italian recipes and colorful Mafia anecdotes is as much fun to read as it is to cook from. Now The Mafia Cookbook is reprinted with Cooking on the Lam—adding thirty-seven original new recipes and a thrilling account of Dogs’s recent years since he testified against the Mob in five major trials, all told in his authentic, inimitable tough-guy style. The new recipes are simple, quick, and completely foolproof, including such classic dishes as Shrimp Scampi, Tomato Sauce (the Mob mainstay), Chicken Cordon Bleu, Veal Piccata, Marinated Asparagus Wrapped with Prosciutto, Baked Stuffed Clams, Veal Chops Milanese, Sicilian (what else?) Caponata, Gambino-style Fried Chicken, Lobster Thermidor (for when you want to celebrate that big score), and desserts rich enough to melt a loan shark’s heart. You can follow these recipes and learn to cook Italian anytime, anywhere, even on the lam, even in places where Italian groceries may be hard or impossible to find. Tested by Mob heavy hitters as well as FBI agents and US marshals, these recipes are simple to follow, full of timesaving shortcuts, and liberally seasoned with Joe Dogs’s stories of life inside—and outside—the Mob. This is the perfect cookbook for anyone who wants to make the kind of food that Tony Soprano only dreams about.

Capone written by Laurence Bergreen and has been published by Simon and Schuster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-05-21 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

In this brilliant history of Prohibition and its most notorious gangster, acclaimed biographer Laurence Bergreen takes us to the gritty streets of Chicago where Al Capone forged his sinister empire. Bergreen shows the seedy and glamorous sides of the age, the rise of Prohibition, the illicit liquor trade, the battlefield that was Chicago. Delving beyond the Capone mythology. Bergreen finds a paradox: a coldblooded killer, thief, pimp, and racketeer who was also a devoted son and father; a self-styled Robin Hood who rose to the top of organized crime. Capone is a masterful portrait of an extraordinary time and of the one man who reigned supreme over it all, Al Capone.

How To Drink Like A Mobster written by Albert W. A. Schmid and has been published by Indiana University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-09-01 with Cooking categories.

From John Dillinger's Gin Fizz to Al Capone's Templeton Rye, mobsters loved their liquor—as well as the millions that bootlegging and speakeasies made them during the Prohibition. In a time when any giggle juice could land you in the hoosegow, mobsters had their own ways of making sure the gin mill never ran dry and the drinks kept flowing. And big screen blockbusters like The Godfather, GoodFellas, and Scarface and small screen hits like The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire ensure that our obsession with mobsters won't run dry, either. Mixology expert Albert W. A. Schmid shows how you can recreate the allure of the gangster bar life with step-by-step instructions on how to set up the best Prohibition-style bar and pour the drinks to match. Recipes include mob favorites like the Machete, the Paralyzer, Greyhound (Salty Dog), Say Hello to My Little Friend, and Angel Face, as well as classics like the Gimlet, Kamikaze, and Bee's Knees. How to Drink Like a Mobster also includes profiles of the most notorious mobsters' connections to the booze business, along with tips to stay under the radar in any speakeasy: always have at least one or more aliases ready, pay with cash, don't draw attention to yourself, and in the case of a raid, drink the evidence as fast as you can!
