El B-29 reunía todas las características que hicieron posible el lanzamiento de las bombas atómicas que destruyeron las ciudades japonesas de Hiroshima y Nagasaki en 1945. Ese evento fue catalogado como un recurso de intimidación contra los soviéticos. Ante esa nueva amenaza, Stalin estaba dispuesto a hacer lo necesario para apoderarse de la novel tecnología del asombroso avión norteamericano. Y tal como narra Caído del cielo, finalmente lo logró.

Imagen y palabra: En torno a "El Cristo de Velázquez" es un análisis estilístico e interpretativo del Poema cristológico de Miguel de Unamuno. El poema está inspirado en el famoso cuadro del pintor español Diego Velázquez. Unamuno comienza a componer estos poemas poco después de haber publicado su magna obra, "Del sentimiento trágico de la vida" (1913). En el poemario el Rector expone todos sus pensamientos y pensamientos en torno a la figura de Cristo. Es un poemario con profundas raíces bíblicas. A través de cada poema, escrito en clásicos endecasílabos, el poeta refleja su profunda fe en el Cristo Crucificado. Junto a su obra póstuma, "Diario intimo", esta obra poética no deja lugar a duda de que el conflictivo don Miguel murió creyente. Se encuentra aquí, pues, el "Unamuno contemplativo" frente al "Unamuno agónico" de los críticos. Eliezer Oyola hace un examen minucioso de cada poema, notando las alusiones bíblicas, literarias, históricas y mitológicas.

La autora investiga cómo esos mundos ficcionales, a través de sus figuraciones elusivas y proliferantes, permiten imaginar otros territorios y otras temporalidades. Los ensayos que componen este libro se dividen en dos partes bien marcadas. En la primera, se explora el deseo ligado al ocio con relación al cuerpo que se mueve por espacios abiertos y, en la segunda, se analizan aquellas narraciones que consiguen conmocionar el reparto de los tiempos desde los interiores. Entre ellas existe un interludio sobre los paisajes sonoros, las atmósferas fílmicas y los climas físicos en los que se inscriben afectos y placeres, con sus ritmos propios y sus múltiples imprevisibilidades. ¿Es posible concebir el ocio como una experiencia que promueve la creación de posicionamientos subjetivos renovados? Why is the Spanish input to Surrealism so distinctive and strong? What do such renowned figures as Dal , Bu uel, Lorca, Aleixandre and Alberti have in common? This book untangles the issue of Surrealism in Spain by focusing on a consistent feature in Spanish avant-garde poetry, art and film of the late twenties and thirties: its supersaturation in religion. A repressive religious upbringing, typically under the Jesuits, intensifies both the paranoiac and the mystical - Surrealism's twin pillars - which were already deeply ingrained in the Spanish psyche. Striking examples are Lorca's prophetic voice in New York, Dal and Bu uel's Eucharistic transformations, Alberti's Loyolan materio-mysticism. Alberti is the fulcrum of this study since his poetry goes the full distance of Surrealism's evolution from Freudian catharsis to metaphysical transcendence until it expires in a Marxist reaction to church-bound tradition when his nation convulses in civil war, the surrealist ethos in Spain is not reducible to measuring how closely it imitates French theory. It is 'more serious' than the French, says Alberti, and its bearings are found on a cross of mental suffering and in a journey out of hell that made real art in practice.
