A juzgar por la denuncia p?blica reiterada en m?ltiples escenarios pol?ticos y acad?micos por el historiador Enrique Caballero Escovar, tal podr?a ser el caso del expresidente colombiano Alfonso L?pez Michelsen, un delf?n pol?tico hijo del expresidente Alfonso Lopez Pumarejo, quien fue obligado a renunciar en 1944 al cargo de primer mandatario, debido a que su reto?o L?pez Michelsen urdi? una fraudulenta negociaci?n con las acciones de la cervecer?a Handel. Esta empresa de capital holand?s estaba bajo control del Estado colombiano, debido a que Colombia declar? la guerra a las potencias del Eje en el marco de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Y Holanda estaba en manos de los nazis. Mediante marrullas y maniobras torvas, Alfonso L?pez Michelsen adquiri? las acciones de la Handel, situaci?n que gener? una tempestad pol?tica y la consecuente renuncia de su padre, pero debido a la amnesia colectiva de los votantes colombianos, el tramposo negociante gan? las elecciones presidenciales 30 a?os mas tarde para ejercer el cargo durante el lapso 1974-1978. Seg?n historiadores serios e independientes, Alfonso L?pez Michelsen es el personaje pol?tico m?s nefasto en la din?mica pol?tica del siglo XX en Colombia, ya que no hubo una sola actividad turbia de la vida pol?tica nacional entre 1944 y 2002, en la que L?pez Michelsen no estuviera relacionado directa o indirectamente. No obstante el poder del dinero y las amistades de "alcurnia" venden a los colombianos y extranjeros la imagen de un l?der pol?tico renovador.
