“This rich volume will interest scholars and students of Africa, the African diaspora, world history, legal history, and international affairs.” —Lorelle Semley, author of To Be Free and French: Citizenship in France’s Atlantic Empire The enforced removal of individuals has long been a political tool used by African states to create generations of asylum seekers, refugees, and fugitives. Historians often present such political exile as a potentially transformative experience for resilient individuals, but this reading singles the exile out as having an exceptional experience. This collection seeks to broaden that understanding within the global political landscape by considering the complexity of the experience of exile and the lasting effects it has had on African peoples. The works collected in this volume seek to recover the diversity of exile experiences across the continent. This corpus of testimonials and documents is presented as an “archive” that provides evidence of a larger, shared experience of persecution and violence. This consideration reads exiles from African colonies and nations as active participants within, rather than simply as victims of, the larger global diaspora. In this way, exile is understood as a way of asserting political dissidence and anti-imperial strategies. Broken into three distinct parts, the volume considers legal issues, geography as a strategy of anticolonial resistance, and memory and performative understandings of exile. The experiences of political exile are presented as fundamental to an understanding of colonial and postcolonial oppression and the history of state power in Africa.

Medical Mycology In The United States written by Ana Victoria Espinell-Ingroff and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-03-09 with Science categories.

The development of medical mycology in the United States is assessed within the context of scientific progress as demonstrated by the creativity and scholarly contributions from research, technological activities, and training toward the management of fungal diseases. Although it focuses on American figures and events, it covers the origins of the discipline in Europe and Latin America. It describes historically significant scientific, technological and educational development and the narrative description is accompanied by an analysis of the causes of these and their perceived impact on the development of the discipline from the late 1880s into the 1990s. The development was conceptualised into five aras: the era of discovery, the formative years, the advent of antifungal and immunosuppressive therapies, the years of expansion and the era of transition.

Premodern Rulers And Postmodern Viewers written by Janice North and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-02-01 with History categories.

Pop culture portrayals of medieval and early modern monarchs are rife with tension between authenticity and modern mores, producing anachronisms such as a feminist Queen Isabel (in RTVE’s Isabel) and a lesbian Queen Christina (in The Girl King). This book examines these anachronisms as a dialogue between premodern and postmodern ideas about gender and sexuality, raising questions of intertemporality, the interpretation of history, and the dangers of presentism. Covering a range of famous and lesser-known European monarchs on screen, from Elizabeth I to Muhammad XII of Granada, this book addresses how the lives of powerful women and men have been mythologized in order to appeal to today’s audiences. The contributors interrogate exactly what is at stake in these portrayals; namely, our understanding of premodern rulers, the gender and sexual ideologies they navigated, and those that we navigate today.

Feasibility study and business planLearn How to Present a Completed Feasibility StudyA feasibility study is a thoroughly researched analysis of a plan or method. The purpose of a feasibility study is to determine and then communicate whether an action being considered is practical for a business or project. These studies usually contain detailed information about the financial structure for the plan and an analysis of the market with regards to the proposal (if needed). It also contains the suggested logistics for delivering a product or service, the resources you'll need, the personnel support and the organizational structure required. Presenting your feasibility study is just as important as the work you put into it.How to Assemble Your Feasibility StudyHow you present your final study is just as important as the information it contains. If you have a lot of material, organize it into a portfolio or binder. Finding information easily and quickly is important to executives, managers, lenders, and investors, so include tabs (type them if at all possible) to indicate each component in your study.Cover letters should not be generic but should be individualized depending upon with whom you are submitting the study. Before you submit your study, have someone else proofread it for you to check for content and errors.Typographical errors will make your study appear rushed or unprofessional, and if your descriptions and calculations do not make sense to the reader the action will be ruled unfeasible as presented.Although you write your conclusion last, it serves as a summary of the details in your study. You can place it at the end of your document (before any exhibits and attachments), but placing it after the table of contents sets the tone and highlights key issues for the reader to be aware of before they read the rest of the study.
