Deuterokanonika adalah istilah yang dipakai Gereja Katolik dan Gereja-Gereja Kristen Timur sejak abad ke-16 sebagai sebutan bagi kitab-kitab dan bagian-bagian tertentu dari Kitab Suci Perjanjian Lama Kristen yang tidak menjadi bagian dari Alkitab Ibrani saat ini. Perbedaan ini sebelumnya menimbulkan perdebatan dalam Gereja perdana sehubungan dengan apakah kitab-kitab tersebut dapat digolongkan sebagai naskah-naskah kanonik. Istilah Deuterokanonika digunakan sebagai suatu alasan kemudahan oleh Gereja Tewahedo Ortodoks Ethiopia dan Gereja lainnya untuk merujuk pada kitab-kitab Perjanjian Lama mereka yang bukan merupakan bagian dari Teks Masoret. Kitab-kitab Deuterokanonika dianggap kanonik oleh Gereja Katolik, Gereja Ortodoks Timur, Gereja Ortodoks Oriental, dan Gereja di Timur (termasuk Gereja Asyur di Timur), tetapi dianggap non kanonik oleh kebanyakan gereja dalam rumpun besar Kristen Protestan. Kata Deuterokanonika berasal dari bahasa Yunani yang kira-kira berarti "termasuk kanon kedua". Istilah Deuterokanonika mula-mula dipakai untuk membedakan kitab-kitab tersebut dari kitab-kitab yang dianggap non kanonik dan protokanonik, tetapi beberapa versi Alkitab memasukkan kitab-kitab Deuterokanonika maupun kitab-kitab non kanonik ke dalam satu bagian tersendiri yang disebut "Apokrifa". Like our understanding of Abraham, the category "Abrahamic religions" is vague and nebulous. In Abrahamic Religions, Aaron Hughes examines the creation and dissemination of this term.
