Internationalizing Rural Science Teacher Preparation written by Gayle A. Buck and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-12-25 with Science categories.

This edited volume discusses the need to increase quantity and enhance quality of science education focused on preparing rural students to thrive in an interconnected, interdependent, and complex world. It acknowledges that globally integrated education incorporates local knowledge and culture with global trends. Additionally it highlights globally competent science teaching is not included in most preparation programs, and teachers enter schools unprepared to address students’ needs. Rural schools lack opportunities to keep up with reform efforts and may have limited experiences with diversity, particularly at the global level. These chapters describe globalization in authors’ respective academic institutions by sharing global competence action research projects for preservice teachers. The studies presented were conducted in elementary and secondary science methods, and science content courses. The book’s research is unique as the contributors have carried out action research in science teacher preparation programs and participated in peer discussions that helped them fill gaps in global science teaching while advancing the field of teacher preparation programs.

The theory of the measure of noncompactness has proved its significance in various contexts, particularly in the study of fixed point theory, differential equations, functional equations, integral and integrodifferential equations, optimization, and others. This edited volume presents the recent developments in the theory of the measure of noncompactness and its applications in pure and applied mathematics. It discusses important topics such as measures of noncompactness in the space of regulated functions, application in nonlinear infinite systems of fractional differential equations, and coupled fixed point theorem. Key Highlights: Explains numerical solution of functional integral equation through coupled fixed point theorem, measure of noncompactness and iterative algorithm Showcases applications of the measure of noncompactness and Petryshyn’s fixed point theorem functional integral equations in Banach algebra Explores the existence of solutions of the implicit fractional integral equation via extension of the Darbo’s fixed point theorem Discusses best proximity point results using measure of noncompactness and its applications Includes solvability of some fractional differential equations in the holder space and their numerical treatment via measures of noncompactness This reference work is for scholars and academic researchers in pure and applied mathematics.

Differential Geometry And Its Visualization written by Eberhard Malkowsky and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-08-30 with Mathematics categories.

Differential Geometry and Its Visualization is suitable for graduate level courses in differential geometry, serving both students and teachers. It can also be used as a supplementary reference for research in mathematics and the natural and engineering sciences. Differential geometry is the study of geometric objects and their properties using the methods of mathematical analysis. The classical theory of curves and surfaces in three-dimensional Euclidean space is presented in the first three chapters. The abstract and modern topics of tensor algebra, Riemannian spaces and tensor analysis are studied in the last two chapters. A great number of illustrating examples, visualizations and genuine figures created by the authors’ own software are included to support the understanding of the presented concepts and results, and to develop an adequate perception of the shapes of geometric objects, their properties and the relations between them. Features Extensive, full colour visualisations. Numerous exercises. Self-contained and comprehensive treatment of the topic.

Human Enhancement Technologies And Healthcare Policy written by Jacek Klich and has been published by Taylor & Francis this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-08-01 with Business & Economics categories.

Human enhancement (HE) is considered one of the most profoundly impactful effects of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This book presents the definition, theory, scope, and main challenges of HE from a health policy and healthcare systems perspective. It offers a comprehensive view of the consequences of human enhancement disrupting the status quo in health service delivery and social coherence. The book examines the latest achievements of HE, focusing on four forms of enhancement: cognitive, physical, mood and moral. These forms are supported by the list of specific technologies and techniques used for HE. The book identifies the current trends in HE's development and analyses the challenges that HE poses to health policy and healthcare systems. It discusses the legal and financial aspects of HE, including regulation and shows that the financing of HE goes far beyond the scope of universal health coverage, thus opening the door for private, voluntary insurance and/or out-of-pocket payments. This, in turn, leads towards growing inequalities, which may threaten social cohesion. Readers will receive a structured picture of the latest advances in HE and trends in the field, as well as a list of the challenges and problems that HE generates. The book offers a concise picture of HE for students and researchers across the political sciences, public health, public sector management, and sociology. It will also find an audience among healthcare managers, policymakers, and those who are interested in social change.

Phytoremediation Potential Of Medicinal And Aromatic Plants written by Amit Kumar and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-10-31 with Science categories.

Environmental contamination of heavy metals is a major problem, threatening sustainable agricultural production and health of millions of people. The extensive distribution of heavy metals in soil and water makes it necessary to employ environment-friendly low-cost and sustainable approaches for the remediation of contaminated sites. Phytoremediation has been considered a viable approach to meet these demands; however, it must provide some economic gains too. The use of economically important medicinal and aromatic plants is helpful in restoration of metal-contaminated sites and also may provide economic gains to the farmers. The book brings about a critical overview of the prospects of utilizing medicinal and aromatic plants in phytoremediation, including their utility, economic benefits and human safety issues. The book will be a timely addition to the field and would act as landmark. This book is of interest to teachers, researchers, doctoral and graduate students working in the area of environmental pollution and cleanup technologies. The students working in the field of metal(loid) stress and crop biofortification will also find this to be a useful read. The content of the book is presented in simple language and represented through beautiful and scientifically informative figures and tables.
