Recent debates on migration have demonstrated the important role of concepts in academic and political discourse. The contributions to this collection revisit established analytical categories in the study of migration such as border regimes, orders of belonging, coloniality, translation, trans/national digital culture and memory. Exploring notions, images and realities of migration in their cultural framings, this volume sheds light on the powerful work of these concepts. Including perspectives on migration from history, visual studies, pedagogy, literary and cultural studies, cultural anthropology and sociology, it explores the complex scholarly and popular notions of migration with particular focus on their often unspoken assumptions and political implications. Revisiting established analytical tools in the study of migration, the interdisciplinary contributions explore new approaches and point to the importance of conceptual nuance extending beyond academic discourse.

The Anti Christ Bilingual English German Edition written by Friedrich Nietzsche and has been published by Newcomb Livraria Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Philosophy categories.

A new 2023 translation into American English from the original manuscript of Nietzsche's 1889 Der Antichrist. This edition is bilingual- the original text is included in the back as reference material behind the English translation. This is volume 9 in The Complete Works of Friedrich Nietzsche from Newcomb Livraria Press. This chronological, systematic set of Nietzsche's works is the first ever bilingual "Hauptwerke" or complete major works of Nietzsche published in English & the original German. The Anti-Christ is the apotheosis of his arguments against Christianity, as well as his personal Megalomania. As the title suggests, Nietzsche sees himself as the Anti-Christ, the replacement of Christ and Socrates. He truly believed that he was going to replace Jesus in the Western world. Nietzsche is oceanic in his attempt to solve philosophy itself, as Hegel and many Continental philosophers did, but here takes it to an entirely different place. As the self-described Miltonic inversion of Job, a neo-Prometheus, the self-described Anti-Christ, he believed it was his duty to help the West undo thousands of years of history and return to a pre-socratic greek warrior society. This is realized through a restoration of amoral teleology with the Will Zu Macht, the Will to Power, to a return to a Pagan Greco-Roman culture.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer And Simone Weil written by Vivienne Blackburn and has been published by Peter Lang this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004 with Philosophy categories.

The book is the first major study to bring together the two early twentieth-century theologians Dietrich Bonhoeffer, German Lutheran pastor, and Simone Weil, French philosopher and convert to Christianity. Both were victims of Nazi oppression, and neither survived the war. The book explores the two theologians' reflections on Christian responsiveness to God and neighbour, being the interdependence of the two great commandments of the Jewish Law reiterated by Jesus. It sets out the common ground and the differing emphases in their interpretations. For Bonhoeffer, responsiveness was the transformation of the whole person effected by faith (Gestaltung), and the responsibility (Verantwortung) for one's actions which it implies. For Weil, responsiveness was the hope and expectation of grace (attente) reflected in attention, the capacity to listen to, understand and help others. Both Bonhoeffer and Weil faced a world dominated by aggression and horrendous suffering. Both endeavoured to articulate their responses, as Christians, to that world. The relevance of their thought to the twenty-first century is explored, in relation to perspectives on grace and freedom, on aggression, suffering, and forgiveness, and on the role of the church in society. Conclusions are illustrated by reference to contemporary theologians including Rowan Williams, Daniel Hardy, Frances Young and David Tracy.
