Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Geschichte Deutschlands - Nationalsozialismus, Zweiter Weltkrieg, Note: 1,3, Universität Augsburg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Gegen Mittag des 30.1.1933 wurde das laufende Rundfunkprogramm unterbrochen und aus den Lautsprechern tönte folgende Nachricht: „Der Führer der Nationalsozialisten, Adolf Hitler, ist soeben von dem Herrn Reichspräsidenten zum Reichskanzler ernannt worden, auf Grund von einer längeren Besprechung, die der Herr Reichspräsident mit Herrn Hitler sowie Herrn von Papen hatte.“1 An diesem Tag sollte die radikale Machtergreifung Hitlers beginnen, die das Leben der deutschen Bevölkerung vollkommen veränderte. Erklärtes Ziel des neuen Reichskanzlers war die Gleichschaltung, d.h. das Ende des Pluralismus auf allen Ebenen des öffentlichen Lebens.2 Innerhalb von nur zwanzig Monaten konnte dieses Ziel in die Tat umgesetzt werden. Im Folgenden soll nun ein grober Überblick über die wichtigsten Stufen der Umsetzung dieser Gleichschaltung in den Jahren 1933/34 skizziert werden. Ausgehend von den Voraussetzungen, sollen entscheidende Schritte im politischen, wirtschaftlichen, ideologischen, kulturellen und militärischen Bereich aufgezeigt werden. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die Gesamtentwicklung nachzuvollziehen, ohne sich dabei im Detail zu verlieren.

How could educated professionals have supported the Nazi movement and collaborated with Hitler's inhuman policies? Jarausch examines this fascinating and largely unexplored subject, tracing the social, ideological, and political development of three representative German professions--law, teaching, and engineering--from the late Empire to the early Federal Republic. Based on a reformulated professionalization theory and on authoritative statistics, he describes professional prosperity and prestige in the Second Reich and analyzes the social crisis brought on by hyperinflation, stabilization, and Depression during the chaotic Weimar years. Threatened with the loss of livelihood and frightened by cultural disorientation, many experts embraced neo-conservative ideas and cooperated in Hitler's seizure of power. Die gesetzliche Ausgrenzung macht der Autor an rechtlichen Regelungen auf der untersten Ebene, Durchführungsbestimmungen, Runderlassen und und Verfügungen fest. Dem stellt er eine Chronologie der Vorkommnisse gegen die jüdische Bevölkerung von März 1933 - 1945 gegenüber, die auf Archivalien, zeitgenössischen Publikationen, den wichtigsten jüdischen Periodika der Jahre 1933 - 1945 und zahlreichen zeitgenössischen Erlebnisberichten basiert. Das Ausnahme-Unrecht gegen die jüdische Bevölkerung von 1933 bis 1945 ist in ähnlicher Akribie und Konsequenz bisher nicht dargestellt worden.
