Alppipolku on L. M. Montgomeryn oma kertomus matkastaan maailmankuuluksi kirjailijaksi ensimmäisen kerran suomeksi. Nyt se ilmestyy kirjoittajansa Sisko Ylimartimon päivittämänä versiona ja esittelee Annan ja Emilian ohella myös Montgomeryn vähemmän tunnettuja tyttöhahmoja - Marigoldin, Saran, Patin ja Janen - joista kertovia kirjoja Ylimartimo on myös suomentanut. Kanadalainen Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874-1942) on yksi rakastetuimmista tyttökirjojen luojista. Montgomery on tarinankertoja, jonka elämään kirjoittaminen kuului nuoruudesta lähtien. Hän julkaisi kirjoja, runoja ja novelleja, joista tunnetuimpia ovat Anna- ja Runotyttö-kirjat. Sisko Ylimartimo on rovaniemeläinen tietokirjailija sekä taidehistorian lehtori ja lastenkirjallisuuden dosentti. Ylimartimo on perehtynyt syvällisesti L. M. Montgomeryn tuotantoon niin tutkijana kuin kääntäjänäkin.
