Podemos aprender mucho en la relación personal y más todavía si el otro es un escritor que nos habla de sus trabajos literarios. El libro Maestros Amigos lo dediqué a comentar mis deudas y mis aprendizajes con los expertos que me habían enseñado a profundizar en mis lecturas. Aquí converso con escritores de mi edad que me han enseñado mucho con su amistad y al leer sus obras. Este libro Amigos Maestros es como el anterior, una publicación “re-publicanda”, es decir una reedición de textos míos ya publicados pero ampliados con correcciones y añadidos. Como se indica en el “Preámbulo”, el autor inició su comunicación con las obras literarias en las primeras lecturas burgalesas de clásicos y modernos que realizó en sus cursos juveniles de Lengua y Literatura, una etapa en la que, además, compartía sus lecturas escolares con compañeros de su edad que también echaban su cuarto a espadas en los comentarios a lo que leíamos. Llegado a la Universidad y en los años que vinieron después fue leyendo y, en muchos, casos, tratando personalmente a escritores. De algunos coronados por la fama se habla en el libro Maestros Amigos. En el presente libro se teje una revisión lectora con textos publicados en los años en que se hilvanaba la biografía del autor. En su docencia universitaria. Así pues, este volumen es un libro autobiográfico de crítica literaria en el que la creación poética y la narrativa ocupan el lugar más destacado. Su primer capítulo está dedicado a describir diacrónicamente lo que han sido los álbumes desde su origen en la Antigüedad clásica hasta llegar a las colecciones de discos que hasta hace pocos años realizaban los aficionados a la música. Esta marca albumística de reunión colectiva de distintos escritores se proyecta en el conjunto del libro en el que su autor ofrece un diálogo con algunos autores de los que ha ido conociendo y tratando en sus etapas de docencia universitaria a los que dedica capítulos monográficos y a los que suma la consideración de un erudito y algún periodista: Francisco Aguilar Piñal, Maria Isabel Hernández Prieto, Javier y Juan José Coy, Cándido Pérez Gállego, Juan Carlos Rodríguez, Santiago Rodríguez Santerbás, Antonio Colinas, Luis Mateo Díez, Diego Martínez Torrón, José Giménez Corbatón, María Antonia Martín Zorraquino y Jesús Rubio. Cierran el libro dos capítulos dedicados a grupos de escritores más jóvenes enraizados en Aragón y en la cabeza de Castilla la Vieja. Viejos en el primer libro y jóvenes en este segundo trazan implícitamente el relato de una autobiografía. Abstract We can learn much from a personal relationship and all the more when the other person is a writer, who tells us abouts its literary work. In the book MASTERS FRIENDS the author wrote about his learning experiences from those experts who had taught him how to deepen his reading, and about his debt to them for their teachings. In this book he dialogues with writers of his same age, who provided him with teachings through their friendship and through and through work. This book FRIENDS TEACHERS is also and like the previous one a “republished” publication, i. e., a reedition of texts of the author which had already once been published and which have been now extended and corrected. As mentioned in the “Preambel”, the author started his communications with literary works in the first readings of the classics and modern works, which he initiated in his juvenile classes of Language and Literature, a stage in which he also shared readings with his classmates. Once he started the University and in the years to follow, he read works of authors with whom he often had personal contact. MASTERS FRIENDS speak about same of those authors who were crowned by fame. FRIENDS TEACHERS undertakes a reading review of texts which were published in the early years of the author´s biography. The album-like style of bringing together various writers is reflected in this book, where the author offers a dialogue with some of the writers he met and dealt during his years of university teaching and to whom he devotes monographic chapters. also adding the consideration of an erudit and da journalist: Francisco Aguilar Piñal, María Isabel Hernández Prieto, Javier y Juan José Coy, C-andido Pérez Gállego, Juan Carlos Rodríguez , Santiago Rodríguez Santerbás, Antonio Colinas, Luis Mateo Díez, Diego Martínez Torrón, José Giménez Corbatón,, María Antonia Martín Zorraquino y Jesús Rubio. The book closes with two chapters devoted to young writers rooted in Aragón and in Burgos. Older authors in the first book, younger ones in this second work, implicitly draw the account of an autobiography.

Este libro recoge catorce semblanzas de escritores, estudiosos y profesores españoles que han sido decisivos en la formación literaria del autor y, algunos de ellos, en la construcción del concepto de «Historia literaria» al que Leonardo Romero ha dedicado un libro. Estos autores -poetas, críticos, investigadores- enseñaron al autor los fundamentos de lo que es el universo de la Bibliografía, la tradición folclórica y la sociología en sus relaciones con la escritura artística, la fabricación de conceptos histórico-literarios y, sobre todo, el placer que proporcionan los textos cuando son leídos con voluntad de gozo y aprendizaje. El libro anota en sus primeras páginas un breve apunte de las que fueron primeras lecturas del autor y concluye con una meditación sobre la escritura y las lecturas que pueden darse a los textos literarios en el complejo mundo de la red telemática y la comunicación internáutica en el siglo XXI. Pero el núcleo de volumen se centra en una etapa -segunda mitad del siglo XX- en la que la «Historia de la Literatura» experimentó un auge muy brillante en los estudios hispánicos y, por supuesto, en el libre mundo de los lectores curiosos.
