En este trabajo se pretende abordar el análisis comparativo, a diferentes niveles, de dos protocolos de entrevista construidos bajo presupuestos teóricos distintos y distantes: de una parte la entrevista diagnóstica estructurada (ChIPS, Weller et al., 2000) derivada del sistema de clasificación DSM-IV (APA, 1995) y por otro lado, la entrevista funcional (Molina et al, 2001) elaborada a partir de diferentes esquemas propuestos desde una perspectiva conductual (Bijou, 1976; Luciano, 1997). Para llevar a cabo este objetivo y a la luz de la literatura consultada, se han planteado tres estudios. El primer estudio pretende analizar comparativamente la capacidad discriminativa de ambos protocolos en dos muestras de población: normal frente a clínica. Asimismo, se valorará la validez de criterio de la entrevista diagnóstica y el juicio del clínico. El objetivo fundamental del segundo estudio es mostrar la validez para el tratamiento de la información recabada de cada protocolo y sintetizada en informes que serán enjuiciados por un grupo de expertos de diferentes aproximaciones teóricas. Finalmente, el tercer estudio pretende mostrar la utilidad de tratamiento a partir de la información obtenida en cada entrevista y tras la aplicación de dos modalidades de tratamiento: tratamiento con componentes estandarizados frente a un tratamiento funcional (adaptado) a las características del caso. El análisis estadístico y descriptivo de los resultados permitirá extraer conclusiones sobre los objetivos expuestos de cada estudio. Se sugiere, finalmente, futuras líneas de intervención sobre la validación española de ambos protocolos, sobre el análisis de los potenciales efectos iatrogénicos (Luciano, 1997; Wicks-Nelson e Israel, 1997; Eikeseth y Lovaas, 1992; entre otros muchos), etcétera.
