La entonacón es, posiblemente el fenómeno lingüístico más influyente en la comunicación oral. Sin embargo su estudio no siempre se ha considerado prioritario. Ello se debe a que no se han resuelto los problemas teóricos planteados por el carácter tonal de la entonación, dificilmente segmentable y ligada intimamente a la expresión de la actitud y la emoción del hablante.
