La phraséologie est étudiée ici dans la lumière d'une analyse contrastive roumain-français. Une expérimentation nous a permis d'identifier les difficultés liées à la traduction des unités phraséologiques et d'établir leur typologie. Devant la diversité des problèmes, il apparaît nécessaire d'approfondir l'étude de la phraséologie. A cet effet, un corpus bilingue de 14 200 unités phraséologiques a été constitué. L'analyse du corpus nous a permis d'établir des principes d'équivalence et de mettre en évidence certains aspects du fonctionnement phraséologique des deux langues. Les résultats de l'analyse sont présentés en deux parties. La première partie traite des aspects formels et aboutit à une systématisation sous forme de règles de transposition. La deuxième partie traite des aspects sémantiques tels que le sémantisme du verbe, la variation phraséologique et les constructions imagées. Nous évoquons, en guise de conclusion, les différentes perspectives applicatives de cette étude.
