[Abstract] My journey into the experiences of withheld anger began when I noticed different feelings and bodily sensations within myself during times when I withheld my anger. As I became aware of it within myself I also noticed the withholding process in others. The topic I choose to study for this thesis is "What Is the Black Woman's Experience of Withholding Her Anger". The research model used in this study is heuristic and phenomenological. Through using heuristic and phenomenological study I was able to observe and record experiences of withheld anger as shared by the co-researchers in this study. The co-researchers I choose to work with during my research are Black professional women who work within the mental health field. My findings in this study indicate that the withholding of anger is perceived by these women to be part of the development of self-concept. They use their body sensations of anger as a signal to begin the withholding of the expression of anger. The implications in this study provide some insight and guidance for the therapist who has female Black clients.

Research conducted by the National Institute of Mental Health has shown that anxiety disorders are the number one mental health problem among American women and are second only to alcohol and drug abuse among men. Approximately 15 percent of the population of the United States, or nearly 40 million people, have suffered from panic attacks, phobias, or other anxiety disorders in the past year. Nearly a quarter of the adult population will suffer from an anxiety disorder at some time during their life. Yet only a small proportion of these people receive treatment..... It is quite possible to overcome your problem with panic, phobias, or anxiety on your own through the use of the strategies and exercises presented in this workbook. Yet it is equally valuable and appropriate, if you feel so inclined, to use this book as an adjunct to working with a therapist or group treatment program.

Anger Treatment For People With Developmental Disabilities written by John L. Taylor and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-12-17 with Psychology categories.

Anger and aggression are prevalent problems among people with developmental disabilities and constitute primary reasons for them to be admitted and re-admitted to institutions. They are also a key reason for the prescribing of behaviour control and anti-psychotic medication to this client group. Stimulated by growing research in this area, mental health and criminal justice professionals have begun to see the benefits of anger assessment and cognitive-behavioural anger treatment for people with developmental disabilities. There is no prior text to guide anger treatment provision to this client group. This text presents a manual-guided cognitive-behavioural anger treatment protocol, grounded in a solid theoretical framework and empirical evidence for its efficacy in clinical practice. The assessment and treatment approach is designed to engage and motivate patients with recurrent and deep-rooted anger problems and their manifestation in serious aggressive behaviour. Accompanying the treatment protocol are a number of worksheets, handouts, and exercise sheets for clinicians and clients that can be accessed online.

This is one of the most practical books available regarding how to develop transformational leaders who can in turn lead transformational groups. What sets their work apart from all the other small group books out there is their focus on the leader of the group. I've seen Jenn and Tara at work firsthand in the church where I pastor, and they've taken the small group ministry to a new level of effectiveness.''

Psalms 73 150 written by Dianne Bergant and has been published by Liturgical Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013 with Religion categories.

The book of Psalms plays a significant role in the public and private prayer of both the Jewish and Christian communities today, helping to shape the minds and hearts of modern believers. In two commentaries, one covering Psalms 1-72 and the other Psalms 73-150, Dianne Bergant examines the theological and historical circumstances from which the psalms originated. She reveals how the psalms were intended for instruction as well as prayer, and helps us experience their lyrical nature. In a fresh encounter with these poems of lament, hymns of praise, and prayers of thanksgiving, readers gain a new appreciation for these ancient texts, remembering that God - who dwells with us still - is "gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in mercy" (Pss 145:8).

Finding The Will Of God written by Bruce K. Waltke and has been published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016 with Religion categories.

New edition of a popular, biblically based guidebook exploring God's will Does the Bible teach Christians to "find" God's "special will" for their lives? No, it does not, says respected biblical scholar Bruce Waltke, contrary to much popular evangelical teaching. In this acclaimed book Waltke clearly distinguishes between pagan divination ("guessmancy") and solid, Bible-based guidance as he distills from Scripture a six-point program to help guide Jesus followers on their life journey. This expanded and extensively rewritten second edition of Waltke's Finding the Will of God incorporates the best insights from many other books on guidance that have appeared since the first edition came out (2002), and it includes an entirely new chapter on learning to protect one's heart. This edition also features thoughtful questions for reflection at the end of each chapter.
