Antisemitismus oder auch Antijudaismus, die Feindschaft gegenüber Juden, gehört zu den ältesten und hartnäckigsten Vorurteilen gegenüber Menschen. Selbst die Wurzeln des Antisemitismus sind umstritten. Die einen sehen diese im religiös begründeten christlichen Antijudaismus ("Juden als Christusmörder"), die anderen noch viel früher in der Bibelgeschichte bei den Enkeln des Religionsvaters Abraham, nämlich im Streit zwischen den Zwillingsbrüdern Essau und Jakob um den Segen des Vaters. Im Mittelalter gab es weitere Begründungen und ab der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts sprach man nicht mehr von Antijudaismus sondern von Antisemitismus, was sich fortan auf die Rasse bezog. Nun tritt Antisemitismus heute, wegen seiner öffentlichen Ächtung seit dem Holocaust, weniger offen zutage. Er wird vielfach in Andeutungen, Codes und Chiffren transportiert. Sprache, Kontext und Person zeigen antisemitische Einstellungen. Die Vervielfachung der antisemitischen Straftaten, wie sie in Verfassungsschutzberichten zu sehen sind, verdeutlichen, dass dieser gruppenbezogene Menschenhass heute meist nicht offen ausgesprochen wird; mit Ausnahme des Internets oder bei Demonstrationen, wo die Anonymität oder der Schutz der Menge gesucht wird. Dieser Sammelband ist der dritte Band und Teil des Projektes "Antisemitismus. Nein Danke!". Dies ist ein Wertebündnisprojekt unter der Leitung des Gesellschaftswissenschaftlichen Instituts München für Zukunftsfragen. Darin kommen wissenschaftliche und politische oft einflussreiche Personen zu Wort und leisten so einen Beitrag im Kampf gegen Antisemitismus.
