During the years before his death in 1918 Apollinaire?s reputation as poet and artistic animateur approached legendary proportions. This book is the first to present an extensive reassessment of Apollinaire?s role in the promotion of themes and iconography amongst his painter friends. Detailed analysis of the poetic subject matter of selected works of Dufy, Delaunay, de Chirico, Laurencin, Marcoussis, Metzinger, Picabia and Picasso is used to reconstruct the responses of these artists to Apollinaire?s artistic and aesthetic proclivities. Drawing attention to the poet?s immersion in the art and iconography of the French late-Renaissance and the seventeenth century, Adrian Hicken shows that the study of the permeation of Apollinairean and Orphic imagery in the work of artists with very different personalities presents a fascinating and pivotal episode in the history of Parisian modernism.

Women And The Great War written by A. Belzer and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-10-11 with History categories.

Drawing on both wartime discourse about women and the voices of individual women living at the Italian Front, Allison Belzer analyzes how women participated in the Great War and how it affected them. The Great War transformed women into purveyors and recipients of a new feminine ideal that emphasized their status as national citizens. Although Italian women did not gain the vote, they did encounter a less empowering form of female citizenship just after the war ended with Mussolini's Fascism. Because of the Great War, many women seized the opportunity to participate in a society that continued to recognize them as guardians of the nation.

[English]: «Estro furioso» is the title of one of the twelve short-stories making up the index of Gesù, fate luce, the second book by Domenico Rea published in 1950; three years after its 'official' debut, always with a collection of short narrative texts, in prose: Spaccanapoli. And, again, the expression “Estro furioso” could now be used: as a ‘sample’ of style - or as a possible outline of shared reading - in the five chapters (Domenico Rea as contemporary writer; Domenico Rea, poet and novelist; Domenico Rea between national and regional publishing; Domenico Rea among History, Anthropology, Journalism and Photography; Domenico Rea between the Old and the New Continent: the language, the literature) thematic containers of fifteen essays of this volume dedicated to Domenico Rea. The authors of the essays are scholars from various Italian and foreign universities, journalists, experts in the world of photography and publishing.
