Il milanese è rustique, diceva Stendhal, e una letteratura delle origini rurali è quella meneghina con le sue 'bosinate', primissima forma letteraria, e la sua prima maschera, anch'essa rurale, di Baltramm da la Gippa. In questo primo volume alcuni cenni alle origini del dialetto milanese danno inizio a un lungo viaggio attraverso sette secoli di letteratura dialettale, che da Pietro da Bascapè, con il suo 'Sermon divin' datato al 1264, giunge fino agli scrittori meneghini dell'800."
