Excerpt from Anton Bruckner, Sein Leben und Seine Werke Bottcher - Handwerk, wandte sich spater aber dem Lehrberufe zu. 1778 erscheint er in der Chronik Ansfeldens als Schullehrer; er starb am 21. April 1831. Zum Nachfolger wurde 1824 sein Sohn, Anton Bruckner, der Vater des beruhmten Tonkunstlers, gewahlt. Lungensucht und Auszehrung nagten an seiner Gesundheit. Er erreichte nur ein Alter von 46 Jahren. Die Gromutter Bruckners, Josefa Helm, stammt aus Neuzeug bei Steyr und heiratete einen Gastwirt; sie befand sich in guten Verhaltnissen. Die Mutter Bruckners, Therese geboren am 7. April 1801 war als Madchen bei ihrer Tante in Wolfern in der Pfarrhofkuche tatig. Sie starb in Ebelsberg (bei Lin2) am 11. November 1860.
