Definito da Lacan un rebut de la société, lo psicanalista può esistere solo nell’indeterminatezza, senza poter occupare un posto, assumere un ruolo, avere una funzione o una missione sociale definita: tutte quelle prerogative, insomma, che contraddistinguono – in primo luogo giuridicamente – una professione. Nella misura in cui l’analista legittima il suo atto attraverso l’autorizzazione di un terzo e si qualifica, si priva di quella sua preziosa duplicità che Guy Le Gaufey pone a fondamento del transfert, e che ritroviamo in formule quali: «La situazione analitica non tollera terzi» (Freud) o: «L’analista non si autorizza che da sé stesso» (Lacan). Basta infatti che egli dichiari la finalità del proprio atto, basta che si prefigga un qualunque ben determinato scopo, o lo condivida con l’analizzante – fossero pure la cura e la guarigione – perché il transfert, da «messa in atto della realtà dell’inconscio», lasci il posto a un’altra realtà: terapeutica, pedagogica, educativa, morale..., o “semplicemente” alla realtà “tout court” a cui ricondurre il “paziente” che l’avrebbe smarrita. Ma vivere «ai confini delle terre giuridicamente accatastabili», non è forse anche la condizione imprescindibile di chiunque non voglia rinunciare a appartenere a sé stesso? L’inconscio può vivere solo ai confini del diritto, delle istituzioni e delle regole che danno ordine alla società, in una dimensione indefinita e non bene individuata. Se il diritto avanzasse delle pretese sull’inconscio a qualsiasi titolo, ci troveremmo di fronte al peggiore dei totalitarismi: fare dell’inconscio un “oggetto” di regolamentazione, una materia da normare. Ne conseguirebbe un’appartenenza senza limiti dell’individuo allo Stato, inclusa quella parte di sé stesso che egli non conosce, su cui la sua coscienza non ha giurisdizione, quel “resto” che sfugge a ogni logica della rappresentazione e di cui non si può essere privati senza perdere la propria singolarità. Attraverso un’indagine storica che partendo dalla grande opera di Kantorowicz I due corpi del re, suffragata dai drammi storici di Shakespeare, passa per il Leviatano di Hobbes e per le funamboliche vicende di quel “magnetismo animale” di Mesmer, che confluirà nella Rivoluzione francese, per approdare alle forze oscure che agiscono nell’ipnosi e infine alla nozione di transfert elaborata da Freud e Lacan, questo libro si interroga con passione e rigore sul problema di sempre: l’appartenere a sé stessi. Guy Le Gaufey (1946) pratica la psicanalisi a Parigi. Co-fondatore della rivista Littoral, già membro dell’ École Freudienne de Paris fondata e diretta da Jacques Lacan, è stato direttore dell’École Lacanienne de Psychanalyse (E.L.P.), di cui oggi è membro. Dei suoi numerosi libri, tutti pubblicati presso E.P.E.L., Anatomie de la troisième personne (1998) è il primo tradotto in italiano. Appassionato traduttore, ricordiamo le traduzioni dall’inglese di La vie avec un trou dedans e di Une fille en hiver di Philip Larkin (entrambi presso Thierry Marchaisse Éditions, 2011).

The Art of Meditation and the French Renaissance Love Lyric examines the poetics of meditation in the French love lyric at the height of the Lyonnais Renaissance as illustrated by one of the country's most prominent writers. Maurice Scève's Délie is the first French sequence of poems devoted to a single woman in the manner of Petrarch's Rime. It is also the first Renaissance work to use emblems in a sustained work on love. At their core, most amatory lyrics involve a triple relation among lover, beloved, and the meaning of love. Whether the poet-lover is a man or woman, poetic discourse generally takes the form of an interior monologue frequently intermingled with direct and indirect address to the beloved. Though the dominant quality of this lyric is personal introspection, Michael Giordano finds Délie to be consistent with traditions of Christian meditation. He argues that the amatory lyric served as a vehicle for contests of value and paradigm change not only because it was conditioned both by sacred and profane sources, but also because it occurred at a time of religious upheaval and scientific revolution.
