The spread of English as an international language along with the desire to maintain local languages lead us to consider multilingualism as the norm rather than the exception. Consequently, bi/multilingual education has bloomed over the last decades. This volume deals with one such type of education currently in the spotlight as an essentially European strategy to multilingualism, CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), in which curricular content is taught through a foreign language. The book contributes new empirical evidence on its effects on linguistic and attitudinal outcomes focusing on bi/multilingual learners who acquire English as an additional language. The present book has been written for teachers and students of English as a second language (L2, henceforth) and considers the three educational levels, namely, school, college and university. They will find it as a useful resource since it provides readers with insights, suggestions and approaches to implement the so-called Information and Communication Technology (ICT, henceforth) tools to develop the four language skills, namely, reading, writing, listening and speaking, along with a grammar knowledge. En este libro se presenta un análisis de todos los planes de estudios que definen la actual formación inicial del profesorado de Educación Básica en el conjunto del territorio español. Esto incluye 82 grados de magisterio de Educación Primaria y 72 másteres de formación del profesorado de Educación Secundaria. Se trata de un producto que es resultado de una investigación titulada "La iniciación en el desarrollo profesional docente en la educación obligatoria: de las políticas supranacionales a las trayectorias profesionales", de la convocatoria nacional de I+D+i de 2015 del Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad. En concreto, uno de los objetivos del mencionado proyecto pretendía estudiar los procesos de organización y diseño de los itinerarios de formación inicial que llevan a cabo las universidades españolas, del que se deriva el presente libro. La estructura del libro se articula en dos grandes bloques. El primero de ellos recoge el análisis de los grados de Educación Primaria mientras que el segundo bloque se centra en los másteres de Educación Secundaria. A modo de epílogo se incluye un capítulo final conclusivo en el que se describen los principales retos e incertidumbres con que se encuentra en la actualidad la formación inicial de nuestros docentes.

En suma, el octavo bloque responde al liderazgo y la organización y gestión de instituciones y violencia escolar, el análisis de factores que influyen en estos. El noveno bloque pertenece al tratamiento de la orientación, problemáticas y las necesidades académicas o profesionales que competen al sistema educativo. Por último, el décimo bloque recoge aportaciones referentes al conocimiento y aplicación de tecnologías emergentes en las aulas de diferentes etapas educativas. Se establece un acercamiento con diferentes recursos tecnológicos como la realidad aumentada, la realidad virtual o la robótica educativa. Por lo tanto, se trata de una obra multidisciplinar, con capítulos escritos en español, inglés y portugués, con múltiples autores procedentes de numerosos lugares de España y del ámbito iberoamericano.
