Em tempos em que o fazer é entendido como simples resposta a solicitações, este livro de Igor Guatelli é um convite à reflexão do fazer como ato crítico, baseado em posicionamentos que vão além de intuições subjetivas, percepções superficiais e preferências estilísticas. Para isso, o autor estabelece diálogos com a filosofia, principalmente a filosofia francesa, representada pelo pensamento pós-estruturalista de Jacques Derrida e Gilles Deleuze, além de Michel Foucault e a crítica literária de Roland Barthes. Dessa perspectiva, a arquitetura do entre-lugares pode ser compreendida como lacuna, ou antes como elo a propor sentidos, como escreve Vladimir Bartalini em sua apresentação: "Se há objeto e forma, e é difícil supor arquitetura sem objeto e forma, eles não são o sujeito da frase, mas a conjunção, a partícula que liga, possibilitando novos sentidos ao que foi ligado."
