Esta tesis doctoral ha tenido por objeto el analisis de las realizaciones arquitectonicas y urbanisticas que se llevaron a cabo en el medio rural durante el periodo de la autarquia. Estas actividades fueron realizadas principalmente por la DIreccion General de Regiones Desvastadas e Instituto Nacional de Colonizacion. Ambos pretendian: - Reconstruir gran parte de los nucleos que habian sido destruidos por la guerra. - Colonizar determinadas zonas para mantener la poblacion rural en este medio. Esas realizaciones estuvieron fuertemente influenciadas por corrientes economicas y arquitectonicas continuacion de las ya iniciados en el primer tercio del siglo XX. Se ha concretado en Castilla-La Mancha por ser un espacio homogeneo. Se ha visto asimismo las determinantes practicas y simbolicas en las diferentes actuaciones.
