Como um autor e poeta cristão para crianças, é minha tarefa constante fazer com que as crianças criem intenso interesse pela leitura da Bíblia Sagrada. Como em minha infância o Apocalipse era um dos livros bíblicos que mais maravilhavam a minha alma de menino, gostaria imensamente de incentivar as crianças a lerem o Livro de Apocalipse, para sentirem as mesmas emoções que esse livro maravilhoso causava na minha alma infantil! Escrevi essas poesias parta crianças de todas as idades. As cartas para as Sete Igrejas devem ser estudas e meditadas constantemente pelos crentes. Alguém poderia perguntar: como você quer que as crianças criem interesse pelo livro mais misterioso e mais difícil de ser compreendido de toda a Bíblia? Ora, simplesmente por isso mesmo que as crianças devem lê-lo! Com o passar do tempo, o próprio Espírito Santo vai dar uma correta interpretação para o leitor do Apocalipse, desde que tal pessoa o estude com piedosa humildade! E o Apocalipse é o único livro que promete uma benção para aquele que lê-lo e estuda-lo para guardar suas promessas! Depois das poesias rimadas desse livro, achei de bom alvitre colocar como um apêndice final o capítulo 2 e 3 de Apocalipse, onde estão localizadas as cartas — em três versões bíblicas diferentes para que as crianças venham a compreender mais ainda a mensagem: a Versão Almeida Revista e Corrigida, a Nova Versão Internacional e a Nova Tradução na Linguagem de Hoje. A Almeida Revista e Corrigida é a versão clássica das Escrituras Sagradas em português — e nenhuma outra versão se compara a sua linguagem majestosa, clássica e divina. É a versão preferida da minha alma e é a qual eu uso para memorizar os textos sagrados. As crianças também devem aprender a ler a Bíblia Sagrada na Versão Clássica de Almeida. As outras versões devem ser lidas apenas para efeito de estudos, mas para a meditação e memorização nenhuma outra versão da Bíblia em português deve substituir a majestosa e magnífica Almeida Revista e Corrigida! Acts and Monuments by John Foxe, popularly abridged as Foxe's Book of Martyrs, is a celebrated work of church history and martyrology, first published in English in 1563 by John Day. Published early in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I and only five years after the death of the Roman Catholic Queen Mary I, Foxe's Acts and Monuments was an affirmation of the Protestant Reformation in England during a period of religious conflict between Catholics and Protestants. Foxe's account of church history asserted a historical justification that was intended to establish the Church of England as a continuation of the true Christian church rather than as a modern innovation, and it contributed significantly to a nationalistic repudiation of the Roman Catholic Church. The sequence of the work, initially in five books, covered first early Christian martyrs, a brief history of the medieval church, including the Inquisitions, and a history of the Wycliffite or Lollard movement. It then dealt with the reigns of Henry VIII and Edward VI, during which the dispute with Rome had led to the separation of the English Church from papal authority and the issuance of the Book of Common Prayer.
