Advanced Concepts Of Bearing Technology written by Tedric A. Harris and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-10-09 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Part of the fifth edition of the classic Rolling Bearing Analysis, this book examines bearing performance and service life for more complex loading, more extreme operating conditions, and higher-speed applications. Several topics are unique to this work, including mathematical relationships for internal load distribution under conditions of high speed, combined radial, axial, and moment loading, as well as the effects of various types of profiling. The authors also delve into the mathematical development of rolling element-raceway lubricant film thickness and contact friction, the stress-life method for calculating bearing fatigue, and the effects of shaft and supporting structure flexure on bearing loading and deflection.

Principles And Applications Of Tribology written by Desmond F. Moore and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-10-22 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Principles and Applications of Tribology provides a mechanical engineering perspective of the fundamental understanding and applications of tribology. This book is organized into two parts encompassing 16 chapters that cover the principles of friction and different types of lubrication. Chapter 1 deals with the immense scope of tribology and the range of applications in the existing technology, and Chapter 2 is devoted entirely to the evaluation and measurement of surface texture. Chapters 3 to 5 present the fundamental concepts underlying the friction of metals, elastomers, and other materials. The principles of hydrodynamic lubrication are briefly discussed in Chapter 6, and the mechanisms of boundary and elastohydrodynamic lubrication are examined in Chapters 7 and 8. Chapter 9 is a generalized treatise on wear and abrasion phenomena in metals and elastomers, whereas Chapter 10 deals with the internal friction in solids, liquids, and gases. Chapter 11 is an abbreviated yet thorough treatment of experimental methods used in tribological studies. The remaining five chapters in this book are devoted to specific applications, including manufacturing processes, automotive applications, transportation, locomotion, bearing design, and miscellaneous. This book is an ideal source for mechanical engineering students.

Alloy Softening In Group Via Metals Alloyed With Rhenium written by Joseph R. Stephens and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1970 with Microstructure categories.

An investigation was conducted to determine the effect of temperature and composition on alloy softening in group VIA metals Cr, Mo, and W alloyed with Re. Results showed that alloy softening was similar in all three alloy systems occurring at homologous temperatures less than 0.16 and at Re concentrations less than 16 atom percent. Rhenium content required to produce a hardness minimum diminished rapidly in all three systems with increasing test temperature. The similarities in hardness behavior in these three alloy systems suggesat common softening mechanism which may arise from lowering the Peierls stress.

Rolling Bearing Analysis 2 Volume Set written by Tedric A. Harris and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-11-02 with Technology & Engineering categories.

For the last four decades, Tedric Harris' Rolling Bearing Analysis has been the "bible" for engineers involved in rolling bearing technology. Why do so many students and practicing engineers rely on this book? The answer is simple: because of its complete coverage from low- to high-speed applications and full derivations of the underlying mathematics from a leader in the field. Updated, revamped, and reorganized for the new millennium, the fifth incarnation of this classic reference is the most modern, flexible, and interactive tool in the field. What makes this edition so revolutionary? For starters, the coverage is split conveniently into two books: Essential Concepts of Bearing Technology introduces the fundamentals involved in the use, design, and performance of rolling bearings for more common applications; Advanced Concepts of Bearing Technology delves into more advanced topics involving more dynamic loading, more extreme conditions, and higher-speed applications. Furthermore, each book in this edition includes a CD-ROM that contains numerical examples as well as tables of dimensional, mounting, and life-rating data obtained from ABMA/ANSI standards. Whether you are interested in the mathematics behind the empirical values or methods for estimating the effects of complex stresses on fatigue endurance, Rolling Bearing Analysis, Fifth Edition compiles the techniques and the data that you need in a single, authoritative resource.

The ring test has been shown to be a very versatile tool for studying realistic metalworking processing parameters. Computer solutions of mathematical analyses made of ring compression have been verified by experimental tests, have increased the accuracy of the original purpose of the ring test for determining quantitative friction measurements under processing conditions and have provided a method for optimizing the geometry for friction studies. The solutions have also been applied to the determination of true stress-true strain compression curves for deforming material under processing conditions These curves provide flow strength data required for computing deformation loads in metalworking operations and serve as a reference base for metalworking workability studies.
