Asset Backed Securities konnten sich vor der Subprime-Krise einer stetig wachsenden Beliebtheit erfreuen. Als Hauptursache der Krise wird, neben einer mangelnden Due Diligence vonseiten der Investoren sowie einer nachlässigen Kreditvergabepolitik seitens der Banken, die mangelnde Transparenz solcher Instrumente und die dadurch steigende Informationsasymmetrie angesehen. Was vor der Krise ein beliebtes Instrument darstellte, wurde zunehmend zu einem Instrument, welches dauernden Regulierungen unterlegen ist. Während in Europa die Verbriefungsneuemissionen im Jahr 2008 ihren Peak erreichten und ein Volumen von knapp über 711 Milliarden Euro emittiert wurde, wurden im Jahr 2009, als sich die Krise verfestigte, ca. 432 Milliarden Euro emittiert. Dies entspricht einer Abnahme um knapp 40%. Im Jahr 2013 erreichte das Emissionsvolumen sein zehnjähriges Rekordtief, welches sich auf eine Höhe von ca. 180 Milliarden Euro beziffern lässt. Somit hat das Emissionsvolumen seit Beginn der Krise um über 75% abgenommen. Ein stark abnehmendes Interesse der Investoren geht mit einem gleichzeitigen Rückzug der Initiatoren dieser Verbriefungen einher. Wird die Annahme getroffen, dass einem funktionierenden Verbriefungsmarkt eine hohe volkswirtschaftliche Bedeutung zuzuschreiben ist, so gilt es, diesen Missstand dem europäischen Wohlstand zugunsten, abzuschaffen. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit soll der Fragestellung nachgegangen werden ob und inwieweit sich durch eine ABS-Transaktion für Originator und Investor ein Mehrwert herstellen lässt. Dazu sollen zunächst einmal die einem Kreditgeschäft immanenten und wichtigsten Geschäftsrisiken erläutert werden. Anschließend erfolgt eine grundlegende Beschreibung einer typischen ABS-Transaktion, indem sämtliche, einer Verbriefung angehörenden Akteure benannt, deren Aufgaben eingehend beschrieben und die zueinander bestehenden Beziehungen durchleuchtet werden. Auf Basis der Prinzipal-Agent-Theorie erfolgt eine kleine Untersuchung der den Informationsasymmetrien geschuldeten Risiken und Nutzeneinbußen. Die zwei nachfolgenden Kapitel befassen sich mit den Risiken von Verbriefungen sowie den zur Verfügung stehenden Maßnahmen zur Steuerung dieser. Abschließend erfolgt, nach einer Exemplifikation des Zahlungsstrommanagements und der Ratingagentur, die bilateral durchgeführte Vorteilhaftigkeitsanalyse. In dieser werden Sachkenntnisse aus der Fachliteratur sowie eigene, gewonnene Erkenntnisse reproduziert um sich ein abschließendes Urteil [...]

Diese Bank, mit der ein Bankkunde den größten Teil seiner Finanzgeschäfte abschließt, wird als Hausbank¡ und die enge Beziehung als Hausbankprinzip (engl.: Relationship Banking) bezeichnet. Der Vorteil ist dabei, dass im Laufe der Zeit für die Bank die Informationsasymmetrien abgebaut werden und für das Unternehmen bessere Konditionen angeboten werden können. Doch durch das Hausbankprinzip gibt es einen starken Fokus auf die klassischen Bankkredite und die Unternehmen sind somit abhängig vom Finanzsektor. Als es mit dem Basel II Abkommen zu Beginn des Jahrtausends schwieriger wurde Bankkredite aufzunehmen, weil diese teurer wurden, ist die Bedeutung von klassischen Bankkrediten gesunken und die von Asset Backet Securities, oder abgekürzt ABS-Transaktionen gestiegen. Durch die in den letzten Jahren steigenden ABS-Transaktionen, hat sich die Finanzierungsform zu einem Bestandteil der modernen und innovativen Unternehmensfinanzierung entwickelt. Denn ABS eröffnet neue Perspektiven für die Finanzierung von Unternehmen und bietet ein starkes wirtschaftliches Wachstum. 1.2 Zielsetzung Ziel dieser Seminararbeit ist es ABS eingehend zu analysieren.
