La personnalisation de l'apprentissage dans les cours en ligne ouverts et massifs (CLOM, traduction de l'anglais MOOC, pour Massive Open Online Courses) constitue un enjeu important car il est gage de qualité pédagogique et peut avoir un impact important sur la persévérance des apprenants. Dans la littérature, on déplore le manque de soutien fourni aux concepteurs de CLOM, alors que ce type de formation en ligne pose des défis nouveaux aux plans pédagogique, logistique et administratif. Dans le cadre de ce projet de thèse, nous visons à outiller le concepteur de CLOM. En nous appuyant sur les écrits portant sur la pédagogie ouverte et sur un état des recherches sur la personnalisation de l'apprentissage dans les environnements numériques d’apprentissage, nous identifions deux groupes de propriétés des CLOM soutenant un apprentissage personnalisé (CLOMp). L’ontologie élaborée à partir de ces propriétés pour représenter et définir un scénario pédagogique de CLOMp a fourni un modèle opérationnel pour la construction d’une grille d’analyse du niveau de personnalisation de l'apprentissage dans un CLOM. Cette grille a, par la suite, servi de base à un prototype d’assistance à la conception de CLOMp. Ces derniers travaux (grille et prototype) ont fait l’objet d’une évaluation de la part de huit experts en personnalisation de l’apprentissage et/ou en ingénierie pédagogique.

L’essor des technologies numériques entraîne de profonds bouleversements en éducation. La récente pandémie a accéléré leur usage et a révélé le manque de préparation des milieux éducatifs, forcés d’adopter dans l’urgence des modalités virtuelles d’enseignement et d’apprentissage. Les défis pédagogiques, technologiques et organisationnels à y relever sont largement sous-estimés. Les méthodes d’ingénierie pédagogique ont pour but d’aider les éducateurs à y faire face. Cet ouvrage bénéficie à la fois des connaissances acquises par la pratique de l’enseignement à distance à l’Université TÉLUQ depuis plusieurs décennies, et des recherches menées à son Institut de recherche LICEF, dont la Méthode d’ingénierie des systèmes d’apprentissage (MISA) et les outils numériques qui l’implémentent ont été largement utilisés au Québec et dans plusieurs pays. Depuis sa diffusion au début des années 2000, les bases pédagogiques et technologiques de cette méthode ont évolué. Le but de cet ouvrage est d’en faire le bilan et d’identifier les lignes de forces d’une nouvelle ingénierie pédagogique. L’ouvrage compte quatorze chapitres regroupés en quatre parties. La première, Évolution de l’ingénierie pédagogique, fournit une perspective historique du domaine. La deuxième, Actualisation des approches méthodologiques et techno-pédagogiques, analyse les nouvelles orientations à donner aux méthodes d’ingénierie pédagogique sous l’impulsion de l’évolution récente des technologies numériques. La troisième, Spécialisations de l’ingénierie des environnements numériques d’apprentissage, s’intéresse aux manières d’adapter le processus général d’ingénierie pédagogique à différents types d’ENA, tels les ENA personnalisés, interculturels ou ouverts massivement (CLOM). La dernière partie présente une Nouvelle méthode d’ingénierie des environnements numériques d’apprentissage (MIENA) intégrant les idées présentées dans l’ensemble des chapitres précédents. L’ouvrage vise à contribuer à l’actualisation des pratiques en ingénierie pédagogique et à la formation de nouveaux praticiens, formateurs et chercheurs dont nos sociétés axées sur le savoir ont de plus en plus besoin à l’ère numérique.
