Clinical Anatomy Of The Knee written by Murat Bozkurt and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-05-13 with Medical categories.

This book provides detailed information on functional anatomy, physical examination, and clinical radiology of the knee with a view to enabling the clinician to identify the most suitable treatment approach to different knee joint pathologies. In addition, the arthroscopic treatment techniques most frequently employed in patients with these conditions are described, with presentation of numerous arthroscopic images detailing characteristic findings. Knee joint pathologies today represent a significant challenge owing to the complexity of the injuries suffered, rising activity levels, and high patient expectations. A proper physical examination plays an important role in diagnosis. The surgeon who has the opportunity to conduct a clinical evaluation must fully understand the role of radiological evaluations, and assessment by a radiology expert is also necessary. In all cases, knowledge of the normal anatomy and its correlation with clinical and radiological findings is fundamental to correct diagnosis and treatment selection. Surgeons and trainees with an interest in knee joint pathologies will find this book to be an excellent, richly illustrated educational guide to the subject.

Profiling the principle techniques of arthroscopy, Atlas of Arthroscopic Techniques provides visual reinforcement of experience gained in the operating room. A straightforward guidebook, the text explains various procedures and the necessary set-up for proper arthroscopy. Pioneers in the field, Drs. Beach and Whipple have been instrumental in developing arthroscopic techniques over the last 20 years. Broad in scope, the book covers basic and advanced topics and includes a section on pitfalls and complications for each procedure, and addresses those issues according to anatomy. These features combine to make this book accessible to the novice and useful to the more experienced surgeon.

Knee arthroscopy is one of the most used operative treatments in orthopedic surgery. The first knee arthroscopy was performed by Prof. K.¬†Takagi, from Tokyo, Japan, in 1920. With further improvement, he made the first black and white photos of the inside of the knee (1932) and, soon, the first color photos (1939). Independently from Takagi, Dr. Eugen Bircher from Arau, Switzerland, in 1921 published the results of 20 ,Äúarthro-endoscopies,,Äù and that was the first time the word ,Äúarthroscopy,Äù was mentioned in literature. In New¬†York, USA, Dr. Michael Burman described in detail the incision points and technique of joint spreading that we use today. In 1957, Dr. Masaki Watanabe published the first Atlas of Arthroscopy. The first Arthroscopy Course in English language was held in Philadelphia, USA, in 1972. The International Arthroscopy Association, with Dr. Watanabe as president, was established in 1974. In clinical knee arthroscopy, the following division proved to be very useful: the medial compartment, the lateral compartment, the central part or central pivot, and the femoropatelar compartment. In this chapter, the normal anatomy of each of this part will be described in detail, with the descriptions of basic knee arthroscopy portals.

Shoulder Ultrasound written by Giorgio Tamborrini and has been published by BoD – Books on Demand this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-06-07 with Medical categories.

In the diagnosis and evaluation of musculoskeletal (msk) diseases such inflammatory and non-inflammatory joint diseases, high resolution musculoskeletal ultrasound (hrMSUS or MSUS) is a superb, precise, and validated method. Many soft-tissue structures can be seen using high resolution musculoskeletal ultrasonography, and depending on the tissue under investigation, msus can also identify a variety of pathologic alterations employing mostly linear scan probes with frequencies ranging from 5 MHz to 24 MHz (up to 70 MHz when examining entheses, nails or the skin). Msk structures are assessed dynamically in real-time and static with the advantage of a multiplanar view. Msus is a helpful instrument for directed interventions at the msk system as well. This method has some limitations, including limited acoustic windows, difficulty detecting diseases in deep or large joints, a small field of vision, and a significant operator dependence. Attending theoretical and practical seminars, as well as individual research using books, websites, or social media, all qualify as training. Consolidating msus knowledge requires the use of high-quality ultrasound equipment and the performance of supervised normal and abnormal msus examinations throughout a training phase. The first focus of this textbook and atlas is to demonstrate a standardized ultrasound examination of the shoulder enhanced with basic anatomical (MRI-, CT-Scans; cadaver models) and arthroscopic images. The second focus is a thorough pictorial atlas of selected basic and advanced ultrasound pathologies. Giorgio Tamborrini Basel, 2023
