Atlas de Geografía Humana de España Un viaje por los paisajes humanizados españoles Este atlas, denominado así por el elevado número de mapas y planos que contiene, ha sido concebido, en realidad, como un largo viaje a través de nuestro país. Un viaje que ha de servir como apoyo fundamental a todos aquellos que hayan de enfrentarse al estudio de diferentes asignaturas de Geografía de España, pero también al lector curioso, interesado en entender e interpretar las formas y la génesis de los muchos, variados y bellos paisajes geográficos españoles. La obra no pretende responder a todos los interrogantes que se plantea la Geografía actual; los mayores esfuerzos se han centrado en responder a aquellos que sirven para satisfacer un anhelo tan común entre los humanos como es el de conocer su espacio vital, comprender por qué es así la ciudad, la villa o el pueblo en el que viven, o por qué hay diferencias tan acusadas entre los paisajes de los diferentes lugares, comarcas o regiones. Se ha optado por usar un lenguaje sencillo y directo y por organizar los contenidos en párrafos cortos que facilitan la comprensión de las ideas. Además, se define el significado de muchos de los conceptos utilizados de forma puedan ser entendidos de forma inequívoca. A partir de estos principios los contenidos han sido organizados en cinco grandes bloques: • En el primero se sitúa a España en el contexto de Europa y del mundo, y se analizan sus estructuras político-administrativa y territorial • El segundo está dedicado a los recursos territoriales, a su aprovechamiento, su conservación y sus efectos • El tercero aborda el análisis de la población y de las infraestructuras, de sus características actuales y de las dinámicas recientes que permiten comprenderlas • En el cuarto se analizan las principales bases económicas (agroganadería, industria y servicios) y los espacios que han generado durante las últimas décadas • El quinto está dedicado a los paisajes urbanos y a los desequilibrios territoriales Los autores son profesores de reconocido prestigio de las universidades de Oviedo, Valladolid y Sevilla, especialistas en Geografía Humana, Geografía Física y Análisis Geográfico Regional.
