Y más, mucho más: pueblos abandonados, el astuto arzobispo Xelmírez y la reina Urraca, cuernos de piedra y piedras que abalan, los espíritus de las fuentes, el Padre Miño, esconxuros, los romanos, contrabandistas, arrebatos místicos, la gran revolución de los irmandiños, el tren y los ataques vikingos, la raia húmida y Pedro Madruga. ¡Ah! Y mosquitos asesinos, moscas pegajosas, moteros italianos, furgoneteros asturianos y chorizos muy, muy picantes. Todo en compañía de una nutrida hueste de vacas, ovejas, corzos, canes mansiños, osos, lobos, raposos, lampreas, pulpos —cómo iban a faltar— y otros muchos animales… Sí, se me ha ido de las manos: lo que iba a ser un simple viaje a pie través de Galicia se ha convertido en mucho más: en una incursión por la historia, la geografía y la geología de Galicia, por su flora y su fauna, la evolución y la meteorología, las creencias, las costumbres, la vida campesina y esta forma de ser nuestra tan… nuestra. Pero ¿qué le voy a hacer?
