Während Migration seit Jahrzehnten ein hitzig und kontrovers diskutiertes Thema ist, sind weibliche migrierende Subjekte in den politischen und medialen Diskursen entgegen ihrer realen Präsenz unterrepräsentiert. Der vorliegende Band verfolgt daher das Ziel, Frauen als Subjekte der Migration und der – schriftlichen wie audiovisuellen – Diskurse in den Mittelpunkt zu rücken. Er untersucht die Räume, die migrierenden Frauen zugeschrieben werden, sowie ihr Bezug zu biologischen und genderspezifischen Themen wie Mutterschaft, Familie, Körper und Gewalt. Unter anderem zeigt sich, dass Text und Film als Raum fungieren, in dem Schreiben und Zeigen als performative Handlung wirken, die den Frauen eine neue Selbstbestimmtheit ermöglichen. Alors que la migration enflamme depuis des décennies discussions et controverses, les sujets migrants féminins sont sousreprésentés dans les débats politiques et médiatiques, en opposition à leur présence réelle. Cette collection d'analyses souhaite donc placer au centre les femmes comme sujets de la migration et des discours, qu'ils soient écrits ou audiovisuels. Elle examine les espaces attribués aux femmes migrantes et leur relation à des aspects biologiques et de genre qui les influencent, tels que la maternité, la famille, le corps et la violence. Le volume met en évidence, entre autres, que le texte et le film fonctionnent comme espace dans lequel écrire ou montrer est une action performative permettant aux femmes d'agir avec une nouvelle autonomie. Deutet die zunehmende Ausweitung und Verflechtung deutschsprachiger Erinnerungsnarrative auf eine Aufsplitterung des Kollektivs hin, oder signalisiert sie vielmehr die Entstehung einer neuen, transnationalen und transkulturellen Form von Gemeinschaft? Inwiefern vermag die kritische Perspektivierung der Vergangenheit, die in den untersuchten Werken zu verzeichnen ist, über Erinnerungskonkurrenzen und Opferwettbewerb hinauszuführen und einem "solidarischen" Erinnern Raum zu machen? Diesen Fragen geht der Band nach, indem er die Herausforderungen beleuchtet, die neuere Werke der Kunst und Literatur an die Erinnerungskultur stellen. Kreisten die Untersuchungen zum Holocaust-Gedächtnis in der deutschen Literatur lange Zeit ausschließlich um die Gegenüberstellung von Tätern und Opfern und um die Frage der Schuld, so sind heute neue Begrifflichkeiten und Denkmodelle notwendig. Über das titelgebende, von Marianne Hirsch entwickelte Konzept der postmemory hinaus werden Ansätze aus der neueren Gedächtnisforschung sowie aus den Bereichen Traumaforschung, holocaust studies und postcolonial studies diskutiert. Als hilfreich erweisen sich insbesondere die von Michael Rothberg geprägten Begriffe multidirectional memory und implicated subject, die Überlegungen von Astrid Erll und Ann Rigney zum Themenkomplex mediation / remediation sowie die vielfältigen Arbeiten Aleida Assmanns.

Le analisi sviluppate mirano - attraverso approcci transdisciplinari - a mostrare l'importanza di questi testi che oscillano fra pragmatica e letterarietà e ad indagare i tratti specifici con cui l'epistolografia femminile in volgare "raffigura e conferisce una forma". Nella lettera d'amore, infatti, per dirla con Barthes, la donna conferisce una forma all'assenza dell'amato. Le sfaccettature originali della messa in scena dell'amore e delle rappresentazioni dell'affetto costituiscono il fulcro argomentativo di questo volume che si conclude con uno sguardo sulle prospettive attuali e sulle opportunità di utilizzare la lettera come strumento didattico in una lezione di lingua italiana.

Anthropologists have written a great deal about the coastal adaptations and seafaring traditions of Pacific Islanders, but have had much less to say about the significance of rivers for Pacific island culture, livelihood and identity. The authors of this collection seek to fill that gap in the ethnographic record by drawing attention to the deep historical attachments of island communities to rivers, and the ways in which those attachments are changing in response to various forms of economic development and social change. In addition to making a unique contribution to Pacific island ethnography, the authors of this volume speak to a global set of issues of immense importance to a world in which water scarcity, conflict, pollution and the degradation of riparian environments afflict growing numbers of people. Several authors take a political ecology approach to their topic, but the emphasis here is less on hydro-politics than on the cultural meaning of rivers to the communities we describe. How has the cultural significance of rivers shifted as a result of colonisation, development and nation-building? How do people whose identities are fundamentally rooted in their relationship to a particular river renegotiate that relationship when the river is dammed to generate hydro-power or polluted by mining activities? How do blockages in the flow of rivers and underground springs interrupt the intergenerational transmission of local ecological knowledge and hence the ability of local communities to construct collective identities rooted in a sense of place?
