Ist eine mediale Übertragung echten Lebens, das den fiktionalen Welten der Fernsehserien und Spielfilmen gegenübersteht, überhaupt möglich? Welche Rolle spielen die durch das Medium Fernsehen bestimmten Darstellungsmöglichkeiten und wie werden sie vom Publikum wahrgenommen? Anna Falcoianu führt den Leser fundiert an diese Fragen heran, indem sie die Entwicklung entsprechender Formate Revue passieren lässt und ihre gemeinsamen Merkmale herausstellt. Am Beispiel der US-amerikanischen Reality Soap Survivor analysiert sie anschließend die Präsentationsstrategien des Programmgenres. Eine Kernfrage dabei ist, ob Reality TV eine neue Ästhetik in der Fernsehunterhaltung geschaffen hat oder ob Parallelen zu den bereits bestehenden Programmangeboten dominieren. Einleitung Die vorliegende Hausarbeit befasst sich mit dem Genre des Reality-TV, das im derzeiti-gen Fernsehprogramm stark vertreten ist. Vergleicht man die heutigen Ansprüche an Heranwachsende mit früheren fällt auf, dass sie deutlich gestiegen sind. Früher bestimmten die soziale Herkunft, die Regeln der Gemeinschaft, die Gebote und Verbote der Religion, welchen Platz ein junger Mensch in der Gesellschaft einnehmen konnte. Auch persönliche Eigenschaften, wie Begabung, bestimmte Charaktereigenschaften und Aussehen nahmen Einfluss auf den Lebensweg der Heranwachsenden. Diese Normierung grenzte auch die Vorstellung darüber ein, was der Einzelne als Person ist und wie er sich von anderen abgrenzt. Viel Spielraum in der Ausbildung der eigenen Identität gab es nicht. Heute ist dieser Spielraum erheblich grö-ßer geworden, was die Ansprüche an den Heranwachsenden jedoch erhöht. Sein Le-bensweg ist nicht mehr weitestgehend vorgegeben und es liegt an ihm zu entscheiden, wohin er gehen möchte, wer er sein will und inwiefern er sich von anderen abgrenzen will. Die Vielzahl an Wertvorstellungen, Verhaltensweisen, Idealen, Lebenswegen und Meinungen wird heute durch die Medien aus aller Welt an den Heranwachsenden her-angetragen, ganz egal, wo und wie er lebt. Erziehung findet nicht mehr allein zwischen Eltern, Familie und dem Pfarrer statt, sondern ist eine ständige Interaktion zwischen dem Heranwachsenden und seiner Umwelt geleitet durch die Medien geworden. Durch die vielfältigen Orientierungsangebote entstehen viele Möglichkeiten für den Einzelnen heutzutage seine Identität zu entfalten und neu zu gestalten. Diese Angebote projizieren Wünsche und Vorstellungen an den Heranwachsenden, was er aus sich machen kann und will. Eine Projektionsfläche stellen Reality-Formate im Fernsehen dar. Hier werden Kindern und Jugendlichen Modelle und Orientierungen angeboten, die nicht mehr län-ger aus der Welt der Prominenten Weltstars kommen, sondern aus allen gesellschaftli-chen Schichten Deutschlands. Diese Hausarbeit geht zum Einen der Frage nach, was Reality-Formate ausmacht und beschränkt sich dabei auf ein bestimmtes Sendeformat. Zum Anderen wird hinterfragt, was Heranwachsende dazu motiviert, anderen Menschen bei Lebensproblemen zuzuse-hen.
