Walter Buchenau, Jahrgang 1941, hatte nach dem Abitur zunächst an der Wiener Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst studiert, im Anschluss fünfzehn Jahre als Schauspieler und Regisseur gearbeitet, sich danach umorientiert und eine Ausbildung zum Heilpraktiker absolviert. Seit 1980 (bis heute 2022) arbeitet er in seiner eigenen Praxis in Mönchengladbach. Er war zweimal verheiratet, hat drei erwachsene Kinder und machte sich 2015, nachdem der jüngste Sohn aus dem Haus war, auf den Weg nach Santiago de Compostela. Auf der Pilgerfahrt entstand der Plan zu seinem ersten Buch, (Santiago einfach, bitte) ein Reisebericht, mitdurchsetzt mit Gedanken, Gedichten und Selbstgesprächen auf den langen einsamen Wegstrecken des Camino. Es folgten ein Band mit fantasiereichen Kurzgeschichten, (Der Trockenregen) und ein Roman über einen Komapatienten und seine erstaunliche Rückkehr ins Leben (Verstellte Wegzeichen). In all den Jahren enstanden immer wieder Gedichte. Mit einer Auswahl aus den letzten zehn Jahren stellt er sie nun erstmalig im vorliegenden Buch vor.
