Die Arbeit beginnt mit einem historischen Überblick über den Ausbruch von COVID-19 in Wuhan im Dezember 2019 und seine Einstufung als Epidemie durch die WHO im Januar 2020. Sie hebt hervor, wie Epidemien generell die psychische Gesundheit der Bevölkerung beeinflussen, mit einem besonderen Fokus auf Pflegekräfte. Verschiedene europäische Studien belegen einen Anstieg von Depressionen und Angstzuständen bei Gesundheitspersonal während der Pandemie. Die Forschungsarbeit beleuchtet, wie die angespannten Arbeitsbedingungen und das hohe Infektionsrisiko zu einer erhöhten psychischen Belastung bei Pflegekräften geführt haben.

Diese Arbeit wird sich allerdings nicht im Allgemeinen auf die Corona-Krise beziehen, sondern sich mit den Auswirkungen, die diese Pandemie mit sich bringt, beschäftigen. Der Leitsatz für diese wissenschaftliche Arbeit wird also "Die Auswirkungen der Corona-Pandemie auf die Menschen"sein. Seitdem Ende des Jahres 2019 ein Ausbruch einer Lungenentzündung mit noch unbekannter Ursache in Wuhan in China bestätigt wurde, gibt es häufig nur ein Thema, über das öffentlich und auch privat gesprochen wird. Vorerst wurde die Lungenentzündung im Januar 2020 zu einer Epidemie in China und schlussendlich im März 2020 durch die WHO offiziell zu einer weltweiten Pandemie mit dem Namen "COVID19" erklärt. Seit dieser Zeit treffen die Regierungen der verschiedenen Länder immer neue Maßnahmen, um die Pandemie in Schach zu halten und um die Bewohner der einzelnen Länder zu beruhigen und zu beschützen. Somit ist das Thema bis heute hin sehr aktuell und bleibt auch aufgrund der unvorhersehbaren Zukunft noch durchaus von Belangen für die Menschheit. Um ein ausreichendes Bild von diesen Auswirkungen erhalten zu können, wird im Laufe der Arbeit erst auf die derzeitige Situation eingegangen. Ich werde also beschreiben, inwiefern sich das Virus verbreitet hat, wie weit die Impfstoffe entwickelt sind und auch wie die derzeitige Situation von der deutschen Regierung gehandhabt wird, also welche Einschränkungen momentan dem alltäglichen Leben im Wege stehen. Danach finden diverse Begriffsbestimmungen statt, welche mit der Psyche und Stress zu tun haben, um ein umfassenderes Verständnis davon zu haben, wo psychische Auswirkungen der Corona-Krise stattfinden. Der Hauptteil der Arbeit wird sich um die Auswirkungen der Pandemien drehen. Hier wird unterschieden, zwischen den Auswirkungen, die die Pandemie auf das alltägliche Leben mit sich bringt und den daraus resultierenden Auswirkungen auf die menschliche Psyche. Anschließend wird der Fokus auf verschiedene Altersgruppen gelegt, um darstellen zu können, ob man anhand des Alters oder auch den Lebensumständen (Familie, Single) verschieden schwere oder typische Auswirkungen durch die Pandemie feststellen kann. Zu guter Letzt wird ein Fazit zu der gesamten Thematik gezogen.

Mögliche Auswirkungen dieser Maßnahmen auf die psychische Gesundheit stehen im Mittelpunkt dieser Untersuchung. Da es in Deutschland in den letzten Generationen keine Vergleichswerte mit dem Umgang solcher Maßnahmen gibt, sind Studien zu möglichen Auswirkungen dieser Maßnahmen auf die psychische Gesundheit erst noch in Arbeit. Die vorliegende Untersuchung soll zur Reduktion dieser Forschungslücke beitragen. Herangezogen werden hierzu Erkenntnisse aus der Sozialpsychologie und der interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit von Neurologie und Psychotherapie. Untersucht wird das Empfinden des Grundbedürfnis nach Orientierung und Kontrolle. Die mit dem Grundbedürfnis nach Orientierung und Kontrolle verbundene Kontrollüberzeugung, ist wesentlich an der subjektiven Wahrnehmung in einer Situation und dadurch letztlich an der Interpretation und Regulierung der eigenen psychischen Gesundheit beteiligt. Die Überzeugung, auch in schwierigen Situationen selbst die Kontrolle zu behalten, gilt als entscheidend für den Schutz und die Befriedigung der menschlichen Grundbedürfnisse - wonach die Motivation unserer Handlungen primär ausgerichtet ist. Zur Erfassung der aktuellen Wahrnehmung dieser Überzeugung in der Bevölkerung während der Maßnahmen, wurde auf Basis der Konsistenztheorie nach Prof. Dr. Klaus Grawe, ein Fragebogen für eine Online-Umfrage entwickelt. 86% der befragten Personen gaben an, durch die Maßnahmen bereits eine Beeinträchtigung dieser Kontrollüberzeugung zu erleben. This book examines the commercialisation of domestic and care work through private agencies that organise transnational care arrangements by brokering migrant workers. The book focuses on the emergence of private for-profit home care agencies following the 2011 extension of the Free Movement of Workers to Eastern European Countries agreement in Switzerland. The agencies recruit migrant women from these countries and place them in private households for elderly care. This book explores how circular labour migration for these care workers is facilitated. In the form of a mobile ethnography, it traces their journey from Eastern European countries to Switzerland – from when care workers find employment and are recruited by agencies to when they arrive at their designated households. From the agencies’ analytical standpoint, the book examines the recruitment and placement practices of the home care agencies and their role in facilitating migration. Brokering Labour Migration offers an understanding of new migration patterns and highlights fundamental changes in migration control with the extension of free movement of workers in Switzerland to lower-wage countries in Eastern Europe.
