Die vorliegende Studie versteht Authentizität gleichermaßen als Performativitäts- und Diskursphänomen und konzentriert sich in der Analyse auf Zuschreibungspraktiken. Dadurch schlägt sie die Brücke von diskursiver zu erlebter Authentizität: Die Herstellung personaler Authentizität ist stets an ihre soziale und situative Performanz gebunden. Was aber öffentlich-medial als authentisch erlebt (vermittelt) wird, ist erst in sprachlichen Zuschreibungen von Authentizität greifbar. Über die Analyse bestehender Narrative des (Nicht-)Authentischen werden Prozess und Konstituenten diskursiver Authentifizierzungen ermittelt und systematisiert. Mit diesem Modell lässt sich beschreiben, weshalb ein Akteur X einem Akteur Y innerhalb eines Bezugsrahmens Z Authentizität zuschreibt oder aberkennt.
