Um livro a respeito do TEA, inclusão, mediação pedagógica na aprendizagem e no desenvolvimento dos alunos na Educação Infantil e Ensino Fundamental nas Escolas Municipais de Manaus/AM, detalhando como ocorre a atuação do professor do ensino regular no processo de inclusão escolar dos educandos com TEA, especificando o papel da mediação pedagógica na aprendizagem e efetivação da inclusão dos alunos com TEA, bem como a articulação pedagógica entre o mediador e o professor na sala de aula, identificando as expectativas dos sujeitos da comunidade escolar sobre a inclusão escolar dos alunos com TEA. O caminho metodológico seguido foi a pesquisa com abordagem qualitativo-descritivo. Que consistem em investigações de pesquisa empírica. Como instrumento de coleta de dados foram utilizados roteiros de entrevistas semiestruturadas aplicados aos gestores, pedagogos (as), professores, mediadores e pais dos alunos com TEA. Como amostra, foram escolhidas quatro escolas da Rede Municipal de Manaus que possuem alunos com TEA e sala de ensino regular com mediadores pedagógicos. Como resultados mais relevantes do estudo revelou-se que para ocorrer a real inclusão o sistema escolar precisa reformular-se, compreendendo que os alunos com TEA necessitam de uma equipe pedagógica preparada para atendê-los, gestores, pedagogos, professores e mediadores com disponibilidade afetiva e capacitados para assumir o "desafio" que é a inclusão de todos, bem como práticas pedagógicas diferenciadas, atividades adaptadas, adequações curriculares e currículo flexível que acolham as reais necessidades educacionais dos alunos conforme sugerido nos textos legais.

Frances Tustin (1913-1994) was one of the first professionally trained child psychotherapists in Britain. Although internationally recognised for her pioneering therapeutic work with autistic children, her approach is considered by some to be controversial, as her psychogenic view of childhood autism challenged the belief that it is biological and genetic. Autistic States in Children is widely regarded as a vitally important work for understanding the causes of autism in young children. Vividly describing her clinical encounters with autistic children, Tustin argued that autistic states were above all self-protective ones. In her observational studies, she noted how autistic children's interaction with physical objects, such as keys, toy cars, or other play items, had a rigid and ritualistic quality, far removed from the typical kind of fantasy play seen in other children. Such objects are not used by autistic children for their intended purpose, Tustin argued, but rather in sensation-dominated ways that interfere with mental development. She also drew a fundamental distinction between two autistic groups: an ‘encapsulated’ group, which is withdrawn and non-verbal, and an ‘entangled’ group, who are hyperactive and chaotic but have some language.
