Este trabalho teve por objetivo o desenvolvimento de uma metodologia de Avaliacao de Impacto Ambiental das atividades agricolas sobre o solo, particularmente a erosao, utilizando-se de tecnicas de Sistema de Informacoes Geograficas (SIG), Sistemas Especialistas (SE) e Modelagem Matematica de forma integrada. O sistema desenvolvido, denominado EROSYS, promove a avaliacao da aptidao agricola das terras, utilizando a tecnica de SE; avalia quantitativamente a erosao total e por cultura, utilizando a equacao universal de perda de solo (USLE); identifica areas de conflito entre o uso atual e potencial do solo bem como areas com perda de solo acima do limite de tolerancia; recomenda praticas de manejo para conservacao e manejo do solo; estima a perda de fertilizantes na area, em termos de quantidade e valor monetario dos nutrientes carreados superficialmente e apresenta todas estas informacoes ao usuario na forma de um relatorio de impacto ambiental. Para demonstrar a aplicabilidade do sistema EROSYS, selecionou-se a bacia do Corrego Taquara Branca, situada nos municipios de Sumare e Hortolandia, Estado de Sao Paulo. Com relacao ao potencial agricola das terras, o sistema classificou 80,13% da area como de aptidao regular para agricultura o que permitiu visualizar o grande potencial desta bacia hidrografica para a exploracao agropecuaria. Para validacao deste modulo, foram consultados cinco especialistas e verificou-se o indice de concordancia entre estes e o sistema, que no caso foi de 75%. Alem do mapa de apridao agricola, o sistema gerou tambem um mapa com identificacao das areas que apresentavam conflito entre o uso atual e potencial do solo, que no caso desta area piloto foi de somente 10,43%. O sistema, atraves de consultas a banco de dados contendo os fatores da equacao USLE, gerou um mapa de erosao para a area classificando-a em classes quanto ao grau de perda de solo. Alem disto, identificou as areas (66%) cuja sustentabilidade estava comprometida por apresentarem uma taxa de erosao acima do limite de tolerancia de perda de solo. A quantidade de nutrientes, estimada pelo sistema, que, agregados aos sedimentos, alcancam os cursos d'agua foi da ordem de 805,0 kg/ano de P2O5; 1.914,6 kg/ano de K2); 9.458,o kg/ano de CaO e 9.573,0 kg/ano de MgO, o que representa um custo de reposicao de R$ 42.912,75/ano.

The processing and supply of fish products is a huge global business. Like other sectors of the food industry it depends on providing products which are both safe and which meet consumers' increasingly demanding requirements for quality.
