By turns celebratory and sceptical, Career Limiting Moves is a selection of essays and reviews drawn from a decade of immersion in Canadian poetry. Inhabiting a milieu in which unfriendly remarks are typically spoken sotto voce—if at all—Wells has consistently said what he thinks aloud. The pieces in this collection comprise revisionist assessments of some big names in Canadian Poetry (Margaret Atwood, Lorna Crozier, Don McKay and Patrick Lane, among others); satirical ripostes parrying others' critical views (Andre Alexis, Erin Moure, Jan Zwicky); substantial appraisals of underrated or near-forgotten poets (Charles Bruce, Kenneth Leslie, Peter Sanger, John Smith, Peter Trower, Peter Van Toorn); assessments of promising debuts (Suzanne Buffam, Pino Coluccio, Thomas Heise, Peter Norman) and much else besides—including a few surprises for anyone who thinks they have Wells's taste figured out. Zachariah Wells is the editor of Jailbreaks: 99 Canadian Sonnets and the author of two collections of poetry.

Do you make things happen?! Are you an authentic leader? Are you able to define your personal brand? How do you live out your personal brand each day? Life experiences combined with your own interpersonal traits, collectively emote a personal brand - something nebulous yet completely understandable. A concept that when understood, is powerful in both personal and professional endeavors. Hence the purpose of this book. The book chapters depict many life lessons, words of advice and a few stories that tie directly to a personal brand model - the Live It Out (LIO) model. Key messages within the book link to one of the cornerstone focus areas within the model including Self, Faith, Community, Family, Work/Career, and Outside Influences. As you progress through the book, take time to reflect on areas of your life that are going well and alternatively, those areas that require improvement. My objective is that you develop a better understanding of what constitutes your personal brand and how that brand strengthens or weakens based on life decisions made over time. Enjoy!!

Are outer demands for more success, more money, and more prestige overwhelming your inner longings? Is your work no longer energizing you? Years of frenetic activity and blind ambition have robbed many people of the joy and fulfillment they once crave and failures they fear have come to define them. But there is hope, and it can be found in a few simple yet timeless stories. The great Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen succinctly illuminated life's challenges in his treasured fairy tales for children and adults. And now, the powerful lessons of these classic folk tales have been ingeniously applied to the complexities of the modern workplace. In addition to the concise summaries and probing analysis of H C Andersen's tales, The Ugly Duckling Goes to Work includes the author's new translations of the full texts, which restore the humour and rich detail often muted in previous English translations. Simple but never simplistic, these insightful interpretations and translations of some of the most cherished stories ever written will help you look deeply at your life, laugh lightly at your flaws, and make the changes needed to build a more meaningful, joyful work life.

Although this book is about Information Technology, it is in no way technical. The main objectives are to both enlighten and entertain. It covers the four decades I have worked in the industry in which I've attempted to cover all the good things, all the bad things and some downright ugly things. There is also a flavour of 'Wouldn't it be nice if...?' There are 26 sections - one for each letter of the alphabet and the book takes the format of Questions and Answers, not dissimilar to I.T Agony Uncle columns. The main message I have attempted to convey is that I.T. is a knowledge industry. It is populated almost exclusively by very smart people. These people do not require micro-management. They need to be encouraged and trusted to do outstanding work in an environment that is free of fear and blame. There are not many managers who are comfortable with this and we need a radical change in culture so that people can flourish and have fun.
