Allah adalah dzat yang sangat mencintai hamba-Nya. Namun sayang, banyak yang justru sering salah memahami wujud kasih sayang Allah. Salah satunya ketika Allah menguji dengan rasa sakit atau memberi suatu penyakit. Banyak yang memahami bahwa penyakit adalah wujud murka dan laknat Allah. Bahkan banyak yang kemudian menggugat dan memprotes Allah: Mengapa saya yang sudah taat dan tekun beribadah justru diberi sakit? Mengapa mereka yang durhaka pada Allah justru diberi sehat dan bebas menikmati hidup? Mereka lupa bahwa penyakit sesungguhnya merupakan salah satu bentuk kasih sayang Allah kepada hamba-Nya, sebagaimana firman-Nya, “Sesungguhnya Allah ‘azza wa jalla ketika mencintai suatu kaum, Dia akan menguji mereka, menguji dengan musibah, siapa yang ridho dengan musibah itu dengan ujian Allah, maka Allah akan ridho kepadanya. Sebaliknya siapa yang marah dengan musibah itu maka dia akan mendapatkan murka dari Allah.” (HR.Ahmad dan Tirmidzi) Ayat ini menjadi penegas bagi para penderita penyakit maupun keluarga dari penderita penyakit bahwa dengan musibah penyakit itu, sesungguhnya Allah sedang menampakkan ekspresi cinta-Nya pada mereka. Oleh karena itu sudah sepantasnya bila para penderita penyakit merasa bahagia dan suka cita karena mendapat limpahan cinta dan kasih sayang Allah. Bayangkan, banyak orang yang berlelah-lelah memburu cinta dan kasih sayang Allah dan tidak menemukannya, sebaliknya mereka yang sedang diuji sakit justru ‘didatangi’ Allah dengan limpahan cinta dan kasih sayang. Tidak ada alasan bagi para penderita penyakit untuk tidak berbahagia karena sesungguhnya mereka sedang berada di salah satu puncak iman, yaitu mendapat limpahan cinta dan kasih sayang Allah. Tentu tidak mudah bagi para penderita penyakit untuk menikmati penyakit yang diderita sebagai jalan kebahagiaan. Rasa sakit, lelah, frustasi, dan tekanan ekonomi karena harus mengeluarkan biaya yang besar sering menjadi penghalang untuk bisa memaknai penyakit sebagai sumber kebahagiaan. Namun di ayat itu pula Allah memberi jalan untuk menghapus penghalang itu, yaitu dengan ungkapan ridho. “…Siapa yang ridho dengan musibah itu dengan ujian Allah, maka Allah akan ridho kepadanya,” Buku ini hadir dengan isi tentang pemahaman penyakit dan sakit dalam Islam, disertai pemaparan tentang berbagai hikmah sakit. Beberapa tips untuk tetap bahagia ketika mendapat ujian sakit juga diuraikan dengan bahasa yang mudah dipahami. Di bagian akhir disajikan cara hidup sehat Rasulullah untuk menjadi panduan bagi siapa pun untuk hidup sehat.
