A world historical inquiry into pre-modern cosmopolitanism, The Persianate World traces the reach and limits of Persian as a Eurasian language in a comprehensive survey of its geographical, literary, and social frontiers. From Siberia to Southeast Asia, and between London and Beijing, this book shows how Persian gained, maintained, and finally surrendered its status to imperial and vernacular competitors. Fourteen essays trace Persian’s interactions with Bengali, Chinese, Turkic, Punjabi, and other languages to identify the forces that extended “Persographia,” the domain of written Persian. Türkiye’nin nüfus yapısı, büyük oranda Osmanlı’nın son döneminden mirastır. Göç ve iskânın Anadolu’nun Türkleşmesindeki önemini anlamak için kendi aile geçmişlerimize bakmamız yeterli olur. Türkiye’nin etnik ve dinsel yapısının yeniden şekillenmesi, Milli Mücadele’den çok İttihat ve Terakki’nin tam iktidar olduğu yıllara (1913-1918) denk düşer. Fuat Dündar, İttihat ve Terakki’nin, Osmanlıcılıktan Türkçülüğe doğru geçirdiği ideolojik dönüşüm doğrultusunda bu yıllarda uyguladığı göç ve iskân politikalarını inceliyor. Anadolu’nun Müslümanlaştırılması ve Türkleştirilmesi için uygulanan bu politikaları, şifreli telgraflar gibi birincil kaynaklara başvurarak aydınlatıyor. Nüfusun üçte birinin yerleri değiştirilerek birbirine karıştırıldığı bu dönemin sosyo-ekonomik yapısını ve toplumsal ruh halini, anılar ve belgelerle ortaya koyuyor. Biz de genel kamu hukukuna akademik emeğiyle katkıda bulunan bilim insanlarımızın hem hatırlanmaları hem de bu alanda öğretinin izlediği gelişim süreçlerine bütüncül bir bakış açısı kazandırmayı hedefledik. 1982’ye kadar sadece İstanbul ve Ankara Hukuk fakülteleri mevcut olsalar da aradan geçen yaklaşık 40 yıllık süreçte sayı oldukça artmış durumdadır. Dolayısıyla genel kamu hukuku anabilim dalı kürsüleri de artmış, sonuçta ders içeriğinde hangi konuların yer alması gerektiği hususu daha da önemli hale gelmiştir.
