Questo libro vuole essere un racconto di come vivevano i ragazzi di Gaeta negli anni sessanta,attraverso la storia di uno dei tanti bancunar. Una Gaeta diversa da quella che oggi conosciamo, si viveva nei vicoli mentre i cantieri, basciammar,e San Giacomo erano i luoghi più frequentati. Vorrà anche essere un ringraziamento ai tanti uomini e donne che con grande sacrificio riprendevano la propria vita cosi pesantemente condizionata per darci una speranza di un futuro di prosperità. Salvatore Di Tucci nasce a Gaeta il 30 di agosto del 1949 da Francesco Erasmo Di Tucci e Carmina Ciano. Diplomato all'istituto nautico di Gaeta, nel luglio del 68 intraprende l'attività di navigante come ufficiale di marina mercantile. Naviga per sette anni, prima come allievo ufficiale di macchine fino a gradi superiori avendo conseguito l'abilitazione al comando di apparati navali complessi. A seguito di queste esperienze, viene assunto in una grossa centrale di produzione chimica-farmaceutica In questa azienda ricopre vari incarichi nell'ambito della produzione, manutenzione di impianti di produzione di gas criogenici. Attualmente in pensione. Impegna il suo tempo in organizzazioni di volontariato, in particolare in Fidas, federazione italiana donatori di sangue dove ricopre alcune cariche a livello regionale. Amante del il verde e dell'aria aperta, appassionato di piante, di fotografie e tecniche di colture. Felicemente sposato da oltre 40 anni, ha due figli ed è nonno di due adorabili, nipotini Giacomo e Giorgia. Fa il pendolare tra la sua amata città di origine e la città che per tanti anni è stata la sua seconda casa, finché ne avrà la forza, Dio volendo.

Quando il ridondare della terminologia nota del tuo dialetto ti rende padrone della parola, e che con il tuo interlocutore ti dilunghi, se anche involontariamente in disquisizioni che altri, di altro dove non intendono, evidentemente hai un quid che puoi lasciare in eredità. Proprio la struttura dell’opera consente al lettore “ictu oculi” di possedere uno strumento che, con ilare originalità, permette di avere una certa padronanza di un vernacolo molto colorito e variegato, in quanto compendio di parole e suoni in un unico contesto. Per ovvie ragioni incompleto, molto antico, il vernacolo procidano è pregno di sfumature che “ex natura rerum” diletta il lettore anche se non nuovo ad esperienze linguistiche. Ci si ritrova di fronte a termini, detti proverbiali, aggettivi, aneddoti e altro che rapisce talvolta l’immaginario. Pur non essendo unico nel suo genere, ha forse la peculiarità di possedere una sfumatura scientifica: la denotazione della corrispettiva scritto-fonetica internazionale per singolo lemma. In un piccolo compendio si possono ricercare più sfumature eterogenee, quasi a soddisfare il desiderio di una conoscenza più profonda ed estesa, fatta di suoni tutti racchiusi nello spazio/tempo che echeggia, talvolta senza un significato reale, ma quasi sempre offre il senso reale dell’argomento.
