In the elite part of the pistol training, we build onto the basic and advanced courses for self-defence pistol. The purpose is not to be a competition shooter but a capable shooter in a street confrontation. We endeavour to teach and instil tactics, techniques, and correct mindset into the student's subconscious that they can use in the street to survive and prevail. When reading and applying techniques and tactics covered in this manual, keep in mind a full explanation for some of the techniques and tactics cannot be covered fully like you would have in a training course, as a training course allows dialogue and discussion where the actual meaning and context for certain techniques are expounded on. The pictures and illustration have also been limited to make the manual shorter. At times people will assume that a certain tactic might not be as effective as it is being taught to be and that is where the instructor's experience and knowledge will come in and an explanation can be given for an area that is under question. The pictures in this manual are mostly from training sessions so that's from the analogue video footage (early 90s) through to digital video footage (till 2019) and therefore will be of varying quality pictures

The pistol is a single-hand device, more specifically one with the chamber integral to its gun barrel, though, in common usage, the two terms are often used interchangeably. The pistol is a weapon of convenience, and as the saying goes, you fight with your pistol to get to your rifle. The English word was introduced in ca. 1570. Early handguns were produced in Europe and are derived from the Middle Frenchpistolet (ca. 1550), meaning a small gun or knife. This reference book is going to be a series of references I plan on writing. This reference will entail basic to intermediate knowledge of the pistols. I will include some shooting drills and will gradually increase complexity in the advanced references. I then plan on doing other firearms, rifles, shotguns, etc. In my opinion, no reference book should exist without going into great detail on basics to include safety instruction. There is no such thing as a "whoops" trigger on any firearm, and since they are dangerous, they should be treated as such. As an instructor in multiple firearms disciplines, especially concealed carry, writing this reference book was reasonably straightforward as instructing every weekend 2 to 3 times a week gives me a great deal of experience. I'm always asked who my mentor is, and I have two, in particular, I will go over in my reference, but I always tell my students YOU. The more a person teaches, the more they also learn. As instructors already know what we know, helping those at the beginning of the spectrum makes an instructor the best they can be. Thank you for your attention and for reading my reference book. My hope is after absorbing this, and you will be more knowledgeable in something that most people consider a "danger" or not needed." I always tell people firearms are a funny thing. To every person I instruct, I tell them it's an odd subject. I hope to God you never need to use what I instruct, but if you do, you'll be the best humanly possible. As the old adage goes, "It's better to have one and not need one than need it and not have one." One of the most important things I can teach is when NOT to shoot.
