As a person in this era, a complicated world full of emotion that is more acceptable to bring forth in all situations, it can be difficult to find not your voice but your soul. Most of us today have been taught by our parents, peers, or perhaps sometimes even a stranger how to use our voice, how to stand up for ourselves, how to judge, distrust, and have an opinion. However, in a world so smart and accepting of emotion, we have forgotten or dont know at all to honor our soul. Such an important part of who we are as people, and for many of us, we dont take the time to nurture it at all. I dont believe a soul needs monetary things; it doesnt feel hate, anger, jealousy, distrust, or judgment. It is the truest form of our being and is exempt of such loud negativity that we label emotion. We claim its now acceptable as it somehow makes us an individual, therefore, something to take pride inshame on us. What would it be like without these emotions? Personally, its a secret dream of mine. In my strangest state, I often wonder, if we were to be able to leave conjured emotion alone and only feed or honor the soul, could we then be on a higher plane? A different space, if you will, away from reality. Among the rest of the living things that are without ego-driven state but only the purest of motivation to feed what lays within.

The dynamics of Indian politics is reflected in the flexible and fluctuating relations between the centre and the states as well as in the equations within the multiparty political system. This book is one of the first to explore the participation of women in state politics in India and how women navigate the dynamic spaces and hierarchies of the Indian political system. With the help of in-depth studies of 16 states in India, it analyses the gender profile of political parties and legislative bodies in these states; the question of women’s representation which is miniscule in legislative assemblies and women voters and their voting choices. It also explores the roadblocks and barriers they face, along with a study of women’s participation in informal politics. The chapters in this book underline the need for women’s active participation both inside and outside the party system to make democracy more robust and meaningful. Topical, rich in empirical data, this book will be an essential read for scholars and researchers of Indian politics, gender studies, political science, sociology, public administration, and South Asia studies.

A bold woman sets out to reclaim the laird she loves in this novel of fifteenth-century Scotland from a New YorkTimes–bestselling author. Sir Diarmot MacEnroy, deciding his illegitimate children need a mother and his keep needs a proper lady, now stands before the altar with a gentle bride he hopes is too shy to disrupt his life or break his heart. The nuptials, however, are interrupted by the appearance of a flame‐haired beauty carrying two babies, boldly claiming that she is his wife and mother of his twin infant sons. Armed with her seven large brothers, she has come to demand her dues. Having waited one year for the return of the handsome laird who wed her, bedded her, then disappeared, Ilsa Campbell MacEnroy takes matters into her own hands and sets out to reclaim the man she briefly and passionately loved. Stunned by his denial, her heart softens when she learns of the injury that has ravaged his memory. Now she faces the nearly impossible task of conquering his past—and his fierce reluctance to share his heart. Though desire flares hot and wild between them, it will take more to win his trust. It will take the magic touch of a woman in love.

Death By Drama And Other Medieval Urban Legends written by Jody Enders and has been published by University of Chicago Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-05-15 with History categories.

Part of every legend is true. Or so argues Jody Enders in this fascinating look at early French drama and the way it compels us to consider where the stage ends and where real life begins. This ambitious and bracing study explores fourteen tales of the theater that are at turns dark and dangerous, sexy and scandalous, humorous and frightening—stories that are nurtured by the confusion between truth and fiction, and imitation and enactment, until it becomes impossible to tell whether life is imitating art, or art is imitating life. Was a convicted criminal executed on stage during a beheading scene? Was an unfortunate actor driven insane while playing a madman? Did a theatrical enactment of a crucifixion result in a real one? Did an androgynous young man seduce a priest when portraying a female saint? Enders answers these and other questions while presenting a treasure trove of tales that have long seemed true but are actually medieval urban legends. On topics ranging through politics, religion, marriage, class, and law, these tales, Enders argues, do the cultural work of all urban legends: they disclose the hopes, fears, and anxieties of their tellers. Each one represents a medieval meditation created or dramatized by the theater with its power to blur the line between fiction and reality, engaging anyone who watches, performs, or is represented by it. Each one also raises pressing questions about the medieval and modern world on the eve of the Reformation, when Europe had never engaged more anxiously and fervently in the great debate about what was real, what was pretend, and what was pretense. Written with elegance and flair, and meticulously researched, Death by Drama and Other Medieval Urban Legends will interest scholars of medieval and Renaissance literature, history, theater, performance studies, and anyone curious about urban legends.
