He investigates and sees a rather large stuffed bear viciously smacking a toddler around. As quickly as it starts, the attack ends. Not only is this stuffed bear alive, David realizes, hes evil. David decides he must own this bear, and with that, their bizarre relationship begins. His name is Theo, and hes got a whopper of a story to further challenge Davids belief system. Cruelly put to death as a real bear cub, Theo is given a second chance at lifeas a stuffed animal. Theo is forced to become a killer as a rising star among the ranks of a secret brotherhood of gangster teddy bears. Betrayed, Theo is left to rot in the slammer. Theo and his friends conspire to escape. With the loyal Houdini by his side, the gang breathes free air again, but karma, as they say, is no friend to an ex-con.

This fascinating book relates all the excitement, mystery, danger, and adventure of living and traveling in Siberia. It all started back in 1991, when I received an invitation via the Gorbachev government, in conjunction with a mining company working with the Soviet Union, to visit, write about, photograph, and film what the country had to offer American tourists and hunters. This was the era of "Glasnost" and "Perestroika." Gorbachev wanted to bring in American tourists to bolster the sagging economy. That first expedition led to 22 years traveling back and forth to the former Soviet Union - now Russia - where I hung out with the KGB, met numerous dignitaries, and lived in tents and trappers' cabins in Siberia with the local natives. We were attacked by bears, wild boars, and moose! Among those traveling with me were Apollo Astronaut Jim McDivitt, who was stalked by a Russian bear, and a four-star air force general, Earl O'Loughlin, who used to fly spy plane missions over the former Soviet Union. This made for a very interesting confrontation with the KGB. During my time in Siberia, I got to know many of the native people, who relayed numerous sad and harrowing stories of encounters with giant bears. The book is jam-packed with historical perspective of what was happening at this time in Russia, including how the people lived, worked, survived, and what they thought of Americans. While framed by hunting, this book is as much about the people and the culture of Siberia. About the Author Now retired, Michigan native Denny Geurink was previously a teacher and the Midwest editor for Field & Stream magazine. He wrote a weekly newspaper outdoor column for nearly forty years. Publisher's website: http: //sbprabooks.com/DennyGeurink

Bear's Boys is a collection of inspiring stories featuring 36 men whose lives were altered by their encounter with the legendary coach while they were players and coaches at Alabama. The stories of star players such as Joe Namath, Ken Stabler, Marty Lyons, Bob Baumhower, Ozzie Newsome, and Gene Stallings show how the Coach forever changed them as young men and ball players on the field and later in life after football. When Bob Baumhower was released from the Dolphins in 1986, he immediately did what Coach Bryant would have done: he made a plan. Instead of feeling sorry for himself, he snapped into practical mode. First, he sold his boat and his big house. Then, he systematically began exploring business opportunities and setting goals for the next several decades of his life. When he started his first restaurant, he knew he had yet another chance to apply the principles he learned on the football field in real life. "Coach Bryant said there's a lot of blood, sweat and guts between dreams and success," Baumhower said. "That's true in the restaurant business. . . . Today, every success I have, every win that I have, in my opinion, came from the fact that Coach Bryant cared enough to talk to me and turn the light on for me Includes stories for such men as Bob Baumhower Jeremiah Castille Paul Crane Sylvester Croom John Hannah Dennis Homan Scott Hunter Lee Roy Jordan E.
