Deiksis adalah sebuah kata yang tidak memiliki referen yang tetap dan berubah-ubah bergantung pada konteks. Jenis deiksis adalah kategori tertentu dalam pembagian deiksis berdasarkan pada sifat informasi yang terdapat pada setiap ekspresi deiksis, yaitu kata ganti orang, tempat, dan waktu. Makna terkandung dalam penggunaan deiksis, meliputi pragmatik dan semantik. Bahasa Bakumpai sebagai bahasa daerah yang masih digunakan pada wilayah penutur aktif bahasa Bakumpai. Selain itu, adanya kesamaan pertalian yang erat justru pada wilayah penutur aktif bahasa Bakumpai yang menyebar di seluruh perkampungan di tepian kali Barito wilayah Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah yang memang sebagian besar berasal dari asli orang Bakumpai (Baduani, 2005: 1). Buku yang berjudul “Deiksis dalam Bahasa Bakumpai” mendeskripsi tentang (1) bentuk dan penggunaan deiksis persona, (2) bentuk dan penggunaan deiksis ruang, (3) bentuk dan penggunaan deiksis waktu dalam bahasa Bakumpai. Ada beberapa teori mengenai deiksis dikemukakan oleh beberapa ahli. Buku ini memaparkan delapan bentuk dan penggunaan deiksis persona yaitu 1) yaku ‘aku’, 2) arep ‘orang’ dan ‘kamu’, 3) ikau ‘kamu’, 4) iki ‘kami’, 5) itah ‘kita’, 6) ketuh ‘kalian’, 7) awen ‘mereka’, dan 8) iye ‘dia’. Buku ini memuat tentang tiga puluh bentuk deiksis dengan lima penggunaan deiksis ruang dalam bahasa Bakumpai yaitu 1) penggunaan deiksis ruang dalam bahasa Bakumpai secara umum untuk menunjukkan letak suatu benda dan tempat, 2) penggunaan deiksis ruang dalam bahasa Bakumpai secara khusus untuk menunjukkan letak suatu benda, 3) penggunaan deiksis ruang dalam bahasa Bakumpai secara khusus untuk letak suatu benda dalam alat transportasi, 4) penggunaan deiksis ruang dalam bahasa Bakumpai secara khusus untuk menunjukkan letak suatu tempat dan arah, 5) penggunaan deiksis ruang dalam bahasa Bakumpai secara khusus untuk menunjukkan letak suatu tempat dan benda di daerah perairan (sungai). Buku ini juga memuat tiga puluh tiga bentuk deiksis waktu dengan tiga penggunaan yaitu 1) penggunaan deiksis waktu dalam bahasa Bakumpai secara umum, 2) penggunaan deiksis waktu dalam bahasa Bakumpai secara khusus untuk menunjukkan waktu yang lampau, 3) penggunaan deiksis waktu dalam bahasa Bakumpai secara khusus untuk menunjukkan jam.

This is an open access book. The COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years has influenced how educational system works.
