Writing is a critical component of this education that must be mastered for success in school as well as in a career, so as ELLs transition into mainstream classes, the need for writing teachers to be equipped with how to effectively teach these students is imperative. This project examined the evidence-based research f[ro]m 2000-2010 on writing instructional strategies that specifically helped ELLs: collaborative writing projects, feedback on language and writing errors, exercises that increase editing skills, and assignments that include blogging.
