Celem książki jest próba jego opisania przez analizę najważniejszych funkcjonujących w nim pojęć, pokazania, w jaki sposób i przy pomocy jakich terminów mówiono w sprawach wspólnoty, jaki obraz świata politycznego kreślono, jaki system wartości znajdował odbicie w dyskursie. Takie słowa, jak „Rzeczpospolita”, „prawo”, wolność”, „cnota”, choć pozornie brzmią tak samo i dzisiaj, przez wieki zmieniały swoje znaczenie, a wraz z nim zmieniały się ideały polityczne przez nie opisywane. Ich analiza nie tylko będzie pomocą w badaniach języka politycznego owych czasów, ale niewątpliwie wzbogaci i ułatwi zrozumienie tych pojęć także w języku nam współczesnym.

Celem niniejszej dysertacji jest przedstawienie na tle epoki wyekscerpowanych z całego dzieła pojedynczych i złożonych nazw roślin (576), wykorzystanych w pierwszym polskim poradniku gospodarczym, próba ich identyfikacji oraz charakterystyka językowa – szczególnie interpretacja genetyczna i strukturalna. Przeprowadzone badania dobitnie ukazały, jak ważny w językowej charakterystyce tej warstwy słownictwa jest trudny proces identyfikacji desygnatu. Kilka wyekscerpowanych nazw jest tego dobrym przykładem. Dopiero bowiem odniesienie nazwy pozwala na formalną analizę, opis genezy i etymologii. Ujawniło się to dobrze w przypadku łączonych z roślinami nazw nieznanych dawnej i obecnej polszczyźnie, którym w zabytku nie poświęcono też wiele uwagi i oddzielnych opisów (np. fangrety, káwicya). Specyficzny charakter analizowanego tekstu determinuje nie tylko jego treść, ale i pewne zjawiska obecne w warstwie językowej, również w interesującej nas grupie nazw. Ujawnione w trakcie badania materiału cechy swoiste mogą stać się przyczynkiem do ustalenia pierwowzoru polskiego tłumaczenia poradnika, a także jego autorstwa.
