Joe Tarantino describes the fifth and final leg of his 3,600-mile bicycle ride across the North American continent started thirty-one years earlier. Previous trips had left him with nearly 1,700 miles remainingfrom the Pacific coast to his prior stopping point in Winner, South Dakota, just east of the Badlands. After what began as a to-do on his bucket list, Joe eventually realized the final segment of his trip had become something God now wanted him to do. Riding by himself, Joe began his trip in Seaside, Oregon. He crossed the Columbia River over the Astoria-Megler Bridge into the state of Washington and was promptly greeted with record-high temperatures while crossing the Cascade Mountain range and eastern Washington deserts. Along the way, Joe encountered folks from all walks of life and demographics who provided support and encouragement at the times he needed it most. His wife, Barbara, eventually met him in Harrison, Idaho, driving a rented SUV, providing additional support and sharing in his daily adventures. In addition to the record heat, mountain ranges, and deserts, they also endured a 5.8-magnitude earthquake while staying in a one-hundred-year-old log cabin hotel in a remote area of Montana, the epicenter occurring only a few miles from where they had spent the night. Joe describes how God answered daily prayers for protection and provided new insights into Psalm 23 through the people and circumstances he encountered each day. Joes description of his trip will help you understand not only the physical challenges of such a journey but deep insight into his mind during the daily rides. In addition to entertaining you, this book will challenge, motivate, and inspire you to maybe accomplish something you thought impossible while encouraging you to reevaluate your own relationship with the Creator.

Kierkegaard S Writings Xx Volume 20 written by Søren Kierkegaard and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-04-21 with Philosophy categories.

Of the many works he wrote during 1848, his "richest and most fruitful year," Kierkegaard specified Practice in Christianity as "the most perfect and truest thing." In his reflections on such topics as Christ's invitation to the burdened, the imitatio Christi, the possibility of offense, and the exalted Christ, he takes as his theme the requirement of Christian ideality in the context of divine grace. Addressing clergy and laity alike, Kierkegaard asserts the need for institutional and personal admission of the accommodation of Christianity to the culture and to the individual misuse of grace. As a corrective defense, the book is an attempt to find, ideally, a basis for the established order, which would involve the order's ability to acknowledge the Christian requirement, confess its own distance from it, and resort to grace for support in its continued existence. At the same time the book can be read as the beginning of Kierkegaard's attack on Christendom. Because of the high ideality of the contents and in order to prevent the misunderstanding that he himself represented that ideality, Kierkegaard writes under a new pseudonym, Anti-Climacus.

Anger management is more than technique. It is a process, a spiritual journey down a path which leads to self control and peace of mind. "This book has very practical approaches outlined that are very easy to follow and adapt into one's life. These solutions will lead to a healthy and well balanced life and even more, a philosophy of life. Healthy thoughts and attitudes are promoted that will work to prevent unhealthy anger from developing. I found the quotes from spiritual leaders, authors, thinkers and philosophers to be very beneficial and important to reflect upon. I would highly recommend this book to anyone I know." -Robert J. Mahaffey, MSSA, LISW, Clinical Social Worker "Robert Dunn's faith based approach to controlling anger by focusing on attitude rather than applying techniques is a must read for everyone regardless of anger issues. This a great resource to read and keep close for an improved outlook on life." -Pastor Richard Kidd M.Div. Bethel Lutheran Church, Boardman, Ohio "Bob Dunn has offered a strong clinical and spiritual contribution for those with anger issues. His book is also a tremendous reference for those who care for people with anger, anxiety and depression. He offers a powerful and practical message of hope." -Jane Barnett MS, NCC, LPC
