This is the first in a series featuring the adventures of Arnold A. Airplane. It was inspired by the birth of my grandson Jace. I had the pleasure of taking care of Jace for about three hours one day. The last thirty minutes or so, he was asleep in my arms. As I was holding him and just looking down into his little face, my heart filled with a love I had not felt in many years. I then tried to analyze why I love him so much, since he wasn't doing anything. He was just there! So I just drank in the moments, wishing that feeling of pure love would last forever. I then thought about God's relationship with me. I have always thought I needed to perform, to be doing something for Him to make sure He will love me. But, as impossible as it seems, He loves me even more than I love Jace, and when He looks at me, His heart fills with love too. I don't need to give Him a reason to love me; He just does! All I need do is desire to be near Him. Thank you, my Father , for showing me You love me in the same way I love Jace and for sending Your Son to die for me so that I may experience your perfect love.

The Courage Of The Early Morning written by William Arthur Bishop and has been published by Dundurn.com this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-03-12 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

A high-flying, action-packed tale for readers of all ages about the adventurous life of a Canadian icon. William Avery Bishop survived more than 170 air battles during World War I and was given official credit for shooting down seventy-two German aircraft. Experts on aerial warfare acknowledge that his relentless air fighting techniques and skills as a brilliant individualist and marksman were unique and his record unsurpassed. He was the first man in British military history to receive the Victoria Cross, the Distinguished Service Order, and the Military Cross in one ceremony. This remarkably objective biography, written by Bishop’s son, is a warm-hearted, entertaining, and often surprisingly outspoken account of the escapades and heroics of a man of great courage. Eddie Rickenbacker one said, "Richthofen usually waited for enemies to fly into his territory; Bishop was the raider, always seeking the enemy wherever he could be found ... I think he’s the only man I ever met who was incapable of fear." Throughout his life Billy Bishop was something of an eccentric – a man of ebullient high spirits and feverish enthusiasm. As a boy in Owen Sound, Ontario, though, he had no aptitude for learning. His three years at the Royal Military College were disastrous – an epic of rules broken and discipline scorned. He often admitted that his special method of landing wrecked more planes than he shot down. In the days when fliers could rightly think themselves heroes for just having the courage to go up in the rickety plans, Billy Bishop won the respect of comrades and enemies alike. He was one of the new breed of warriors who met the deadly challenge of air combat and made the airplane a decisive military weapon.

Shades of Betrayal follows the fortunes of a compelling cast of characters in Poland, Germany, France, and England. Starting in peacetime, the saga unfolds over the six-year nightmare that ensues after Hitler invades Poland. From the underground soldiers of the Home Army, who surreptitiously defy Hitler in Poland; to the fighters of the French Resistance; to the daring pilots of the RAF; to the dauntless women who engage on countless fronts, these complex people cling to their dreams and yearn for love in the midst of horror. But the evil forces arrayed against them warp their lives, break their hearts, and smash their hopes as one betrayal after the next mounts in all their lives, leading to the ultimate treachery of Poland’s delivery to Stalin’s dictatorship at the war’s end. Told from a shifting array of fascinating, disparate perspectives, Shades of Betrayal offers a unique view of World War II that deeply explores the personal impact of war and explores the power and beauty of the human spirit and its capacity for love, hope, and healing.

Critical Essays On William Faulkner written by Robert W. Hamblin and has been published by Univ. Press of Mississippi this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-08-24 with Literary Collections categories.

Critical Essays on William Faulkner compiles scholarship by noted Faulkner studies scholar Robert W. Hamblin. Ranging from 1980 to 2020, the twenty-one essays present a variety of approaches to Faulkner’s work. While acknowledging Faulkner as the quintessential southern writer—particularly in his treatment of race—the essays examine his work in relation to American and even international contexts. The volume includes discussions of Faulkner’s techniques and the psychological underpinnings of both the origin and the form of his art; explores how his writing is a means of “saying 'no' to death"; examines the intertextual linkages of his fiction with that of other writers like Shakespeare, Twain, Steinbeck, Warren, and Salinger; treats Faulkner’s use of myth and his fondness for the initiation motif; and argues that Faulkner’s film work in Hollywood is much better and of far greater value than most scholars have acknowledged. Taken as a whole, Hamblin’s essays suggest that Faulkner’s overarching themes relate to time and consequent change. The history of Faulkner’s Yoknapatawpha stretches from the arrival of the white settlers on the Mississippi frontier in the early 1800s to the beginnings of the civil rights movement in the 1940s. Caught in this world of continual change that produces a great degree of uncertainty and ambivalence, the Faulkner character (and reader) must weigh the traditions of the past with the demands of the present and the future. As Faulkner acknowledges, this process of discovery and growth is a difficult and sometimes painful one; yet, as Hamblin attests, to engage in that quest is to realize the very essence of what it means to be human.
